WGRZ's Kevin O'Connell

How many years now has Kevin O'Connell being the weatherman for WGRZ in Buffalo? The guy has to be about 70 years old...and man has he put on some serious weight. I think the Bills might consider suiting him up, and have him line up next to 350 lb. defensive tackle Sam Adams. We all know they could use the help up front!

I'm thinking 0, the amount of respect some people have on this forum at times. While I understand you are likely just joking around and trying to be funny, please step back for a moment and realize what you are saying. A person's waist size does not determine their ability to do their job. I don't mean to be the party pooper here, but I highly doubt these same comments would be made about a person if they were deceased. Just be kind to others... :)

Relax dude it was a joke. I never said that he was a bad meterologist. I think he's got charisma and a good personality. I just said he's been at 2 forever and that he's gained some weight (both of which are true). Let's not take things too seriously!

The former isn't taht true -- he was at WIVB in the 1970s before moving to Los Angeles, where he worked at KNBC and KCBS (and also hosted NBC's game show, "Go"), before returning to Buffalo in the 1990s to do the weather for WGRZ.

At least he's probably the only disco and game show host to have a seal of approval from the AMS.
Edited by rugrats1 on 11/17/05 03:29 AM.

Actually, Kevin returned to Buffalo looking for a gig and he was rehired by Channel 4 to anchor their 'new' 5pm News. After a couple of years, hs contract wasn't renewed and he was later hired by Jerry Fedell at WGRZ. That was probably the only thing Fedell did right.....
