WGST and WAGA

Has WGST dropped their partnership with Fox5 as the on air provider of weather forecasts? During the afternoon news today I heard a forecast provided by The Weather Channel, who GST used for many years before dropping them in favor of WAGA a few years back. Although I liked Fox5, I think TWC provided many live forecasts and updates, especially during severe weather. WAGA's forecasts were all pre-taped, never once heard a live forecast.

WGST may have picked up the Weather Channel as a partner due to WGKA's recent switch from the Weather Channel to Accuweather.com as a partnership with their weather forecasts. Until recently, WGKA's weather forecasts were given by radio weather forecasters like Steve Silverio, Jennifer Narramore, and many others that were affiliated with the Weather Channel.

WGST brings you the "official" five day forecast. They say so before each one, so that's good enough for me.

Yep. WGST brings you the "official 5-day forecast" and WSB brings you "Atlanta radio's only 5-day weather forecast." Doesn't that remind you of the old adage, "You can't be 2 places at once"?

As soon as someone comes up with a six-day forecast they will get my business.

WGST did in fact sign on with the Weather Channel in mid April to replace Fox 5. There were a number of good reasons to make that switch, not the least of which is Fox's lack of availabilty in severe weather situations.
