WGST looking for co-host in the morning

Morning Co-Host for 640WGST/Atlanta

News/talk 640 WGST is looking for a co-host for its morning show. We are looking for an engaging person with thoughtful/informed opinions on everything from Iraq to the BCS to raising kids to the best steakhouse in town. This might be the perfect job for a newsperson looking for a new challenge. Women strongly encouraged to apply.

Let's do it this way: Send me your resume and cover letter. DO NOT send any audio until we talk. Thanks.

If this is a sreious post, where do we send our resume and cover letter? I know WGST takes a beating on this board and I often get fooled by sarcasm.

No doubt you need an "engaging person" with "thoughtful, informed opinions," but didn't you just let one go?
Personally, I would rather have sharp, burning sticks driven into my eyes than subject myself to working
there again. I sincerely wish you the best of luck finding someone who will not only be engaging but will make
Atlanta radio relevant once again. The landscape is littered with those who tried but failed.

How about Kari Dean? Oh, that's right, she was let go with everyone else? What was I thinking?

This is real... pulled it from AllAccess.

Are you sure they didn't just recycle the ad that sister station Project 961 put out regarding their own morning show?

Ok, so let the prognostication begin. Eric is probably not a factor as I'm guessing he's persona non grata in that building, and that's too bad because the podcast he's doing with Jimmy and Tim Andrews could actually work well as the GST morning show. Who else is there? Kari Dean is good suggestion.

Why step into a House of Horrors just before they clean house.....again!
They'll be a new boss, same as the old boss, before you finish singing Auld Lang Syne.

How about the radio version of "Hannity and Colmbs"......they could team up Randy with ....uhm let's see....Cynthia McKinney! yeah! ;D ;D

Denny was auditoning for Dave FM, not WGST. If they're seriously considering a co-host for Randy at this point, no one over here is talking about it.

Has Randall ever produced one successful show on his own? There must be one that he put together that worked. Has there ever been one? I am at a loss.

From the FCC database:

Table of Approximate Local Monthly Sunrise and Sunset Times at North Latitude 33 45 43.0, West Longitude 84 27 29.0 (WGST)

Monthly Local Sunrise Times (EST)

June 6:30
July 6:30
August 7:00
September 7:15
October 7:45
November 8:15

These are the same times as when the station is allowed to increase power from 1kw to 50kw.

THIS MEANS that during the first few days in November, the WGST morning show airs a full 45 MINUTES at 50kw. Wow! Really sweetens the pot, doesn't it?

The FCC has informed stations they can use October sunrise/sunset patterns through the first week of November, until the switch back to Standard Time on Sunday, Nov. 4. Still, when you factor in the sunset/sunrise patterns and winter DX splatter, WGST's signal on 640 is worthless till AM drive is over. The crying shame is that the station had a better sunrise/sunset pattern when it was on 920 years ago. When it was simulcast on FM, the problem was largely solved. Why in the heck did CC surrender that?

I think you are reading this wrong. Currently they are under EDT. On sunday they will go to EST meaning they will go full power at 7:15 as opposed to this month when it was 7:45.
