Was station surfing last night to see who woul dbe airing the Hank Johnson/Cynthia McKinney debate. WSB, to its credit, was airing it live.

WGST, meanwhile, was airing Dave Ramsey, but wasn't even getting that right. I flipped over to WGST from WDUN in Gainesville, which was also airing Ramsey. WDUN had returned to the show a full 45 seconds to a minute before WGST did, which was still airing a commercial. Once WGST did finishs its overrun commericals, it jumped in mid-sentence of Ramsey talking.

Man, does WGST not even have someone running the board now? Do they not even have a radio monkey? WGST has become a pathetic joke when it comes to news coverage. Why do they even continue to insult listeners this way?

Why didn't WGST cover the debate? The signal doesn't carry to DeKlab after 8:00pm so the DeKalbians couldn't hear it anyway. Or...they are racist. That's what Cindy McKinney would say, and then she would bare-knuckle fight WGST.

Racists? You must be kidding! Look at all the minorities they have in the newsroom, I mean in management, I must be thinking about engineering, wait a minute the sales department... no I can't think of one over there either.

Well there is that one part time cleaning lady...

Probably just as many minorities there as there are Non minorites at Viva and V103.

With a lineup like that, something tells me Mel Gibson won't be listening.

GPB Radio was simulcating the debate from GPB TV. WSB carried the debate because GPB Radio is not yet availble in Atlanta, unless you live in the suburbs and can get WUGA 91.7 Athens or WGPB 97.7 Rome. (Although, there is a plan to add an Atlanta station at 88.1 FM, running synchrously with WJSP-FM Warm Springs.) C-SPAN televised the debate nationwide due to the massive intrest in the debate.

I wonder why WABE didn't carry it? They were broadcasting a lecture series instead.

It’s sad to see what’s happened to GST. It really is.

Is it? Was it ever a big news/talk station? Everyone seems to think that WGST is destined to be the greatest station in the history of Atlanta, but so far all I've noticed is that it deserves to have its Arbitron books driven over every month. I don't know why there's so much talk about it.
