WGST: No Fox News Radio?

Since WGST-AM 640 return last week, I notice that their hourly newscast no longer airs Fox News Radio on the hour, just two minutes of GNN (Georgia News Network) News, followed by ad spots, and (I guess) a Business update. Is there another radio station that now air Fox News Radio here in or near Atlanta, or is this just a temporary snit until the station contacts the network?

IRRC CC distributes Fox radio news, so CC must have another station in the Atlanta running Fox Radio news. It really doesn't matter to CC/Fox radio news as long as they show "clearance" for the commercials in market # 8. AN AM class C or D would work. I do not know who has Fox radio News in Atlanta. My guess is one of the Salem AM's or suburban stations. I will bet somebody else's dime that the commercials are not Cleared in 96.1 or 94.9.

Several years ago WLSB Copper Hill TN was listed on the "True Oldies" website as the Chattanooga outlet for the True Oldies Network. If agency folks ever took out an Atlas of went to a Radio-Locator type site they would be very surprised what kind of coverage they are getting. Of course that matters little to the 1-800 per inquiry type commercials.

The exact opposite happened with CBS Radio News. They are on WSB in Atlanta. Occasionally you will here a clip with the CBS Radio News but not the newscast. I am sure the CBS Radio commercials are ran, which is a GOOD deal in Atlanta for the Client of CSB Radio news..

I just listened to WGST (God, help me) for the TOH news. They carry about a minute of national news that has a named person reading the headlines, but it is not the GNN person. It definately sounded generic, so maybe it is coming from the iHeart Radio news center????? The national news is followed by the two minute GNN newscast. Then traffic and weather. All of that followed by THREE minutes of commercial/PSAs.
