Excellent question, they finally came to their senses and got my incompetent butt out of there. But yet they keep the same loser lineup in tact for the fall book. Not to mention retaining Randall "One Share" Bloomquist as P.D? That seems idiotic even to an imbecile like myself.

WGST had an opportunity to address their programming woes, however, the idiot PD Randall Bloomquist refused to make a good programming decision--by adding my show to their lineup. Not only would my show (The B.J. Ellis Show) revive WGST, it would set the city of Atlanta on FIRE! Don't take my word for it--judge it for yourself. Visit http://www.bjellis.com for access to my show. You will also wonder like I have, why no one has offered me an opportunity to broadcast my show on a permanent basis. Frankly there is NO justification for constantly being shunned, while morons like Lorraine White, Shelley Wynter, Denny Shaffer, and Chris Krock, Bev Smith, Michael Eric Dyson (just to name a few) are able to torture us with their filth day after day after day.

LOL! I hope I do not regret saying this, but I heard BJ's try out on WGST a year or so I guess. I would have liked to have heard more from him - meaning two or three more shows - to get a real feel for his style. Having said this, I have not taken the time to listen to recordings from his site.
Personal to Randall: The only thing I listen to on WGST on Saturday morning is Sam and Dave. You know where I go for the rest of the morning and early afternoon . . .

maybe they don't want to settle a lawsuit with GLADD over your use of derogatory names for gay people. That crap may fly in memphis, but that's not going to cut it here in the #10 radio market with the 3rd largest gay community in the nation.
Even boring Denny Shaeffer wouldn't call homosexuals 'F**GOTS' on the air. Get a clue.

I think by Jan. you'll see a lot of changes there. You may even see them simulcast on FM---after the changes!! In the meantime, check out Bob Costas' show on Sat. Had his first show this weekend and it was surprisingly steller. Yeah, I know he's a sports guy, but it was more of an entertainment show. For instance, he interviewed Conan O'Brien. Funniest thing I ever heard.

What a sad, sad story WGST is. Once the credibilty is gone on AM...it's hard to get it back. Hopefully there are some over "voices of reason" on the AM Dial to listen to....

I stopped listening several months ago and switched to Regular Guys in the a.m. and GKA for the rest of the day. I like CFO on weekends with the old GST’ers.
Pete and Wayne had a pretty funny show on Sunday broadcasting in front of the Mosque on 14th St.

They stopped listening to Gabe when Jerry Del Corpse and Cue Ball Wheeler took over. You can be sure Gabe wasn't on board for replacing Glenn Beck with Dummy Schaffer. Things may have changed back to Gabe having more say so, which means Doomquist should start looking for another station to destroy.

It's a shame that another person makes IDIOTIC comments BEFORE reviewing the entire issue. I even dedicated a blog piece on why I use the word. It is not to denograte gay people--I don't give a damn what CONSENTING ADULTS do in their bedrooms--as long as NO ONE ELSE bills me for their affairs...
MY usage of the ****** connotation strictly addresses "castrated" men ONLY--many of which are HETEROSEXUAL, sir. If you read my piece on that, then you would have clearly understood this. F.Y.I., there are gay people in Memphis too, Atlanta doesn't "corner" that market, either (no pun intended).
As for Gabe's input, I know Gabe very well, and he has given me some solid advice in the past couple of years. I do agree that he might have a heavy hand on WGST, but trust me, Randall is "calling the shots". That's why this station is in the toilet. HE is now the cancer, with Del Core gone...
Gabe did/does like Denny Shaffer--he thinks/thought he is/was "awesome" (I still have his email confirming this). He might have been awsome in Toledo, but he is AWFUL in Atlanta. It is unfortunate that this market is treated like stepchildren, better yet, UNWANTED foster children. Sooner or later, some station will become interested in making money once again, and their programming decisions will reflect that. I might have signed my SECOND extension before that happens.....LOL
