WGTD Kenosha on 101.7 FM

Dudes,

Yesterday morning while scanning the FM band I was getting WGTD on 101.7. Don't know if its a live broadcast from 91.1 or taped. But signal in Waukesha and Town of Vernon from Fox Run in West side of Waukesha and along I-43 from Hwy 164 towards Racine ave.

Originally was looking for the elementary low power that was on 101.7. Now that school is back, not sure why the school station isn't on. I am thinking perhaps the teacher in charge left the transmitter on with his endless loop message all summer was picked up by the FCC? Who knows? I dount he is re-broadcasting WGDT. It don't sound like him. I'm thinking someone else is re-airing WGTD.

Another funny explanation, which came to mind first... is
that IF stage in FM receivers is 10.7 MHz and if you add
WGTD's frequency plus 10.7 MHz, you'd get real close to
where you were listening. Good for them for having
FM translators to support their small stick at Kenosha...
that's what the service is supposed to do... not rebroadcast
some religious satellite channel from Wyoming or Georgia!

WGTD now has translator stations in Elkhorn (101.7) & Lake Geneva (103.3). Here in Delavan I can get them both. Years ago, before WGSL (91.1 Rockford, IL) came on, I used to be able to hear WGTD's 91.1 all the way to Elkhorn, & sometimes Delavan whith my outdoor antenna.
