WGTK, Earth FM sold to EMF

They’re still running normal programming. I believe they announced they were going away a week or so ago, Joey Hudson has had some special guests on this week and has acknowledged it was the station’s last week and Dan Scott mentioned it on his weekend show. That’s about all I’ve seen/heard. Despite 94.5’s higher ratings than Earth there isn’t much outcry it seems.
I’d rather keep 94.5’s talk format and lose 98.9’s. 🤣 I’m going to try to catch as much of the changeovers OTA as I can.
I won't remember to listen live, but will there be a recording?
I'm hoping The Earlings Castaway page will have something saved like they did when Bill, Lee, Heidi, and Sue did on their respective final shows.
I’m going to record the 94.5 switch OTA, hopefully I’ll be able to get 103.3 OTA also. That’s assuming they switch at 12:01am on 10/28, it’s not always a clean switch at midnight (as we recently saw with WJBR in Delaware).
That’s my plan. Right now, Earth FM airchecks from Aug. 8 through Thursday, Oct. 26 (yesterday) can be found at https://bit.ly/earth-airchecks. I'll probably record the switch and then end the recording shortly thereafter.

I’m going to get video of the 94.5 switch OTA and I’ll put it on YouTube, same for 103.3. I can’t get 95.5 very well but I’d assume their switch will be pretty much like 103.3, maybe not exactly at the same time (95.5 is always about 10 seconds behind 103.3).
I can’t get 96.9 very well, but I can’t even try to record it since I don’t know when they’ll switch over to whatever they are.
Im going to break away from visiting my parents 35 miles south of Greenville to spend the night in Greenville so I can pick up 95.5 and 94.5 on my portable HD radio in my hotel room. I was in my garage when I listened to 106.7 Atlanta convert. Right now Im listening to the podcast of the Kimmer from yesterday now and listened to most of his last show on 106.7fm . It looks like I will be listening to Gorka this time since his show ends at midnight.
Yep, the only way to listen is the Earth FM app or on the website. The streams are gone from iHeart and Audacy too. I don’t see Poder but I’m not sure if they ever streamed or not looking at their website.
Now I’m seeing in the Earth FM group on Facebook they’re going to be broadcasting tomorrow so apparently it isn’t going to be a clean flip at midnight. Every time it seems like it’s over, it’s going to be a little bit longer 😂 if it doesn’t flip at midnight tonight I don’t know when it’ll be tomorrow. Not sure about 94.5.

I heard on earth fm that they were changing at midnight Saturday night which co insides with what the gospel station said. But could 94.5 still change tonight ? I’m glad I’m at twin peaks in Greenville or this would have been a wasted trip

Rejoice said their last full day was the 29th (Sunday)… they aren’t being sold to EMF I’m assuming so it’s probably a different agreement. If Earth FM does not flip at midnight then I doubt The Answer will but who knows at this point. 103.3/95.5 might have one of the longest “goodbye” periods I’ve ever seen considering at first it seemed like the end of August (when they played all of the dark/“goodbye” songs teasing an announcement), then end of September with most of the DJs leaving, now here we are at the end of October…even listeners have questioned if this is really “it” (I know it is, but apparently a day later than it seemed).
Maybe it’s just me but 102.5’s playlist is awfully close to Earth FM and sounds pretty darn good
Plus 94.5 repeating the Joey Hudson show from Friday am leading up to midnight

It was special, and more than just an average Radio station. Lots of Emotional Goodbyes, after many years now therels many years.
Earth FM (🌎FM) has been an inspiration and a blessing to so many. Hopefully inspiring new doors to open soon, with new opportunities and adventures on the way. Keep the faith, never forget the good times.
They did a great job, it take lots of effort, and it was a success and should be an example for others to learn from. Now they have a legacy and a BIG story to tell with everlasting memories, in some form Earth FM will live on forever in our hearts. Thanks to those that recorded and posted the recent recordings / airchecks as well. Means a lot. Forever an Earthling.
