WGTO QSL Card

The owners wanted to put a better signal into Orlando.
Unfortunately, moving the transmitter site also meant that they would have to provide protection to stations who, in the early days of WGTO's 50kw operation, had to provide protection to WGTO.
As a result, the station's nulls got much deeper.

Someone already mentioned the station in Orange Park on 550 (WAYR) but wasn't the major reason WDAK 540 in Columbus GA? If I remember correctly it came along in the early 1960's, and I believe it has always been non-directional, too.

This past December I was able to receive 540 at Topsail Island, NC along with the usual low dial moments like WQAM, the Cuba time and news station at 570, WDBO, WIOD and others.

They are certainly providing additional protection to WDAK's signal in addition to protection to Canada and Mexico (Yucatan).
WAYR probably isn't in the mix. Too far away and essentially in the station null anyway.

The WGTO QSL Card which I will soon receive is from the previous WGTO C.E.
Does anyone have one from 1979-1982 with the "Great Country Music" logo?
