WGTY/WGET sold to Forever

WGTY/WGET Gettysburg has been sold to Forever Broadcasting for 4.2million, no real estate involved. Seems low to me but I haven't worked there since 2000. If Forever is going to make a move in this market, the next logical acquisition is obviously the WYCR "Peak"/WHVR Combo.. I wonder.....

Actually there may not be any other stations available after Harold Swidler tries to expand his empire into York. Central PA today....tomorrow the world!

I was shocked to hear the news that WYCR/WHVR is being sold to Forever Media. I never though Barb & Joan would sell the stations!! Must be one hell of a price they are getting for them to bail after all these years!! Hopefully the stations won't follow the usual deal and be switched to some ridiculous cookie-cutter format....and I hope not too many people lose their gigs over this. I can see them automating the AM 100%...I agree with Jack Daily's post: Goodbye to local radio....what a shame...too many great memories associated with those frequencies. Good luck to the staff at Radio Hanover...wonder what Ned Rutledge would say :)
