WGTY/WHVR Forever

It seems that the Forever takeover of WGTY and WHVR is almost complete.
All of the deejays who are left at WGTY have names that go along with the theme. Donato is now Frogman, Dan Douglas is James Pond.
They lost a few personalities too, which is expected with any transition.
The oddest part is hearing longtime WHVR deejay The Real Davy Crockett doing country on GTY as Davy Croakett.

HVR is expected to switch from The Peak to Rock 98 on Monday.
What does everyone think?

That whole Froggy thing is kinda stupid, especially when taking over a new property and making everyone change their names. Just my three cents...

In my opinion, the "Froggy" concept is outdated...it was hip about 20 years ago, but now it seems really ancient. I hardly think WGTY needed a "gimmick" name-change to get more listeners...I personally think they may lose some due to this move. Making the current GTY air personalities take new names after they have been using their regular names for so long is idiotic...you wanna do the whole "frog name" thing, then bring all new people in so the voices are new. As far as "The Peak" now changing to "Rocky 98.5", one has to wonder: will the station mascot be an aging boxer from Philadelphia or a flying squirrel? I would like to go back and do afternoons using the airname "Bullwinkle J. Moose" :) I don't know who is running Forever Media, but they have taken two heritage stations and screwed with them for really no good reason.

It is silly. Changing jocks names to match a stations new imaging is dumb, especially if the talent has been there for years. All of a sudden their name changes? It happened locally with a station branded as "Bigfoot Country".
