WGUY 102.1 is now K-LOVE as of...

I wonder when 101.7 will flip...If I remember correctly from the FCC website, EMF is giving Kalil a portion of the full price and LMAing them for up to 4 years (with an outright buying of the stations when EMF provides the rest of the cash) and programming K-Love on the 2 stations. Right now 102.1 is K-Love with 101.7 still IDing as "Oldies 102.1 & 101.7" complete with dual legal IDs

Does anyone know if KLOVE is going on 101.7 also, or what is going on 101.7? When?

And now WFZX 101.7 has finished the transition. As of today, they are also K-Love. The dual ID for 101.7 and 102.1 sounds like this is going to be the finished product. I'll be curious the next time I'm in Bangor to see if the two K-Love translators at 91.5 and 93.3 or 93.7 (I can't remember which) may have flipped to Air 1? Anyone up there know?

I tend to not be in favor of the new movement toward a "Fairness" Doctrine, now cloaked under the heading of 'localism', as it's a thinly veiled political move. HOWEVER, things like this make me pause and hope that some reform comes of it.

EMF, in particular, has done so many communities a disservice by knocking a local station off the air in favor of their poorly-rated generic birdfeed. This phenomenon is so bad in parts of upstate NY that fully half of the FM choices (when you include simulcasts) in certain areas consist of religious broadcasts that originate from a different time zone! Drive near Utica and you'll see what I mean. Or north-central PA. Nobody can tell me that listeners in the Bangor market are better served by yet another Mc K-Love outlet than they were by a local-ish oldies station. This crap needs to end.

I took a trip east and 91.5 and 93.3 are silent in Bangor (the folks at WCTB 93.5 must be jumping for joy, a much better signal to the east for them now)
