WGVC 106.3 Charlie FM

I was in G'ville this past week. I noticed Charlie was running a liner saying that Charlie FM will play its last song on Monday March 31! A format change already? They flip formats on this station like crazy! They have not even given it time to catch on!
 
Already? I was expecting it to last 'til August or September -- since that seems to be the average lifespan for a format on 106.3 since Entercom took over..

seriously, one would wonder if it's a stunt. What else is left for them to do?
 
Folks, barring the popularity of Vietnamese Hot Talk, let's not forget what's the day after March 31st....I'm sure this isn't the only one of these jewels playing out. Small stations like these are given no means to advertise themselves so they do what they gotta do to stir the pot.
 
Good point. I like this station. I know there is little effort put into it, but I enjoy the charlie/steve/bob/jack variety.
 
Well, I expect them to have a new format anyway by the August or September....10-12 months seems to be the average lifespan for a format on there..
 
Seems strange that Craig D is on the beach and 106.3 maybe having a format flip,might it be a good fit for the former PD Of 96.7 The Buzzard?
 
Craig D. is a good radio guy, and like 8 to 12 other radio vets in the upstate, and Western NC sitting twiddling their thumbs...no longer wanted in the business!
