WGY FINALLY DROPS "AND NOW 103-1 FM"

I noticed that WGY has finally dropped the slogan" AM 810 and now 103-1 FM" from its imagining, legal ID's, reporter outro's etc. This comes exactly a year after the simulcast began. This should have been done 6 months ago. They however are saying "AM 810 and 103-1 FM" much more often than they need to. At the top and bottom of the hour would be sufficient. Al they need to say most of the time is "News Talk WGY"

You're thinking like a radio guy, Knickman. I'd bet that the vast majority of potential GY listeners in the Capital Region have no idea that they can now listen to the station on 103.1FM. They should probably continue promoting it in their IDs for a minimum of 12 to 24 more months (4 to 8 books).
