WGY now On 103.1 FM

Would moving WOFX programming to FM really help all that much?

It would be in the best interest of Clear Channel, and most radio companies, to keep sports on the AM dial, as long as it's going to be mostly bird-fed by Fox Sports or any other network. A larger market with a huge sports following might warrant a sports station on FM (read: CBS Radio). But in 2010, the most financially viable option for an AM stick, if not one of the most, is sports, because of the sales factor. Hence why it would make sense for FSR to remain confined to the former WTRY for the foreseeable future.

I'm a little surprised they didn't move the Channel 103.1 format down to 102.3
Kiss has zero chance of beating FLY and JAMZ, but Channel could beat Q103 if programmed right.

The WSB AM/FM combo just tied for #1 in the Atlanta October monthlies (PPM), no doubt propelled
by the mid-term election chatter. Of course, Albany's a diary market and diary results tend to lag behind real-time listening patterns so it's possible that the GY AM/FM combo might get a boost in
the Nov trend.

In my opinion, they should've killed off Kiss-FM instead of Channel... Kiss-FM hasn't been doing too well because of both FLY and Jamz, and I also think Regent can come up with a better "FLY"swatter than Clear Channel ever could... and I'm thinking they'll flip 105.7 to CHR after Christmas. =/

Now the only station I pretty much listen to is WKBE (100.3 The Point), since Q103.9 just isn't cutting it for me, and I don't think CC will flip PYX to full-on Mainstream or Active Rock anytime soon...
