WGY question

Why doesn't WGY have a local afternoon program? WSYR in Syracuse has a local host from 3-7PM. WBEN in Buffalo has both a local host from 3-6 and then does a full hour newscast at 6. WHAM in Rochester, WNBF in Binghamton, WHCU in Ithaca all do a full hour newscast at 5. I find it interesting WGY has nothing.

Because it costs nothing to run an hour of a syndie yacker versus the cost of producing an hour or even 30 minutes of local news. WGY last had an hour local news at noon pre Rush.

Sounds like your typical Clear Channel cheapskate. At least CC owned WHAM and WSYR haven't abandoned local for syndicated in the afternoons yet.
