wha on-air personalities are joining Real 92.3 FM?

Just wanted to know besides Big Boy. Who else is joining Real 92.3 during the weekdays/weekends?

Anyone know?

In a word ... no.

I suggest you read AllAccess' Net News section on a daily basis, or check Don Barrett's LARadio.com every morning. It is most likely that those at iHeart who know who's being talked to about joining are sworn to secrecy about posting to message boards about it ... as are those who may have been hired but not announced yet.

Kurt "Big Boy" Alexander will start the morning show on March 9 and former WMIB-Miami program director Abdul "DJ A-OH" Hassem will also have an airshift. K.M., do you think Real 92.3 will have live DJs in the overnight hours or do you think they'll rely on voice tracks or automation? To be able to pay Big Boy that huge salary, they have to save some money somewhere.

They're iHeart. They have the money ... but they're also notorious for automating with out-of-market talent. I wouldn't place any bets on anything.

AllAccess says Hashem is "APD/air talent" ... while you're probably right (I put the odds at 99 to 1 in your favor) about that meaning an airshift, it could also mean Big Boy's sidekick.

Sportscaster Vic “The Brick” Jacobs, who has worked at KIIS, KXTA and KLAC, has joined the cast of Big Boy’s morning show. Vic The Brick and Petros Papadakis must have gone to the same broadcasting school…if you get my meaning.

One big difference - Petros knows what he's talking about.

BTW, what makes you think KMR has inside info on the Real 92.3 situation?

Man has Big Boy had some high profile quests on his show, and unlike Seacrest and company they are very interesting interviews that are more than just a stupid promo for the upcoming move or music release.

No one can match Howard with the interviews, but Big Boy is certainly #2. Such a compelling listen each morning, I can't see how he wont be #1 in mornings if he keeps this up.

Nina Chantele, former morning show co-host at WGCI in Chicago, has joined Real 92.3 KRRL for afternoons. DJ Damage and Sib Vicious are now doing 7 pm to midnight. They are, respectively, Abdul Muhammad and Sibley Scoles. They began working together in January of 2014 on Revolt Live, a daily music-oriented program on Sean Combs' Revolt TV digital cable channel which is carried by Comcast and Time Warner in select markets.
