WHAM TV Sold to Sinclair

Sinclair got the FCC's OK to purchase Rochester's 13-WHAM for $6 million. If that sounds ridiculously low, Sinclair also agreed to pay $54 million for the building and other assets not related to the license. Still, $60 million is a lot less than an ABC affiliate would have gone for five years ago. The original agreement with Deerfield Media didn't include benefit plans for current employees. Sinclair also isn’t required to retain all employees as a condition of the deal.
