WHAS 840 off the air?

Last night here in VA, I noticed that there was no WHAS; it was either on low power or it was not on air. The Cuban(s) on 840 was heard a little more clearly at night. Anbody else noticed anything on 840 AM at night?

WHAS is back on air as of I type this, and no IBOC is heard, so that's good news. Whatever they're dismantling the noise machine, I don't know. WCCO and several stations on 850 come in clearly tonight.

Love it when those adjacent channels pop in after ages of buzz. Same around here in central Ohio lately with WLW's buzz off. Last I checked, it had been off almost a week.

IMO Joe Donovan's WHAS show in the 80s & 90s would have sounded lovely in HD.....otherwise, forget it!! :D

But Joe played mostly OLD 45 rpm records....certainly NOT HD material! But I must admit, I really miss his GREAT program. As for I-BUZZ, whoever invented it should be punished for his attempted destruction of AM radio.

It was in AM Stereo for almost all of its run.

Sadly, I only noticed the uniqueness of the format of the show in 1995, when the AM Stereo was long gone.

Joe's show would've sounded great on a tin can with a string.

I certainly agree!
