WHAS & Severe Weather

What a shame WHAS can't do what they did this afternoon when severe weather happens at an "inconvenient" time like Sunday evening...When staffed, they still make a respectable showing...when not staffed, it's a whole different station...I can NOT "depend on it" to be there. If Consistency Is The Hallmark Of Excellence, WHAS can't be rated excellent...sad to say.

Growing up in Lexington I did depend on WHAS for weather, their coverage was amazing. These days, not so much. As long as someone is in the control room, you can depend on them. But when the Cuddly Giant is left on auto pilot you must place your faith in the EAS.

Do they even bother with the Constant Alert Tone these days?

They didn't yesterday...

The WAVE 3 Storm Center guys were more concerned about operating their 3-3 Weatherplus channel than getting the word out on the radio. Up until this last storm, Belski and company were interacting live with people on their chat room. I guess these avenues and Twitter and Facebook have taken priority over the public airwaves.
