WHAS to go off shortly

Well my memory is somewhat fuzzy on this after 50+ years, but I do remember KAAY playing music sometime on Sunday evenings when the other stations weren't. Maybe it was after 8pm while the others that I could receive were still airing religious programs.
My reference of the 6:00-8:00pm time slot was Monday-Friday. I cannot recall their Sunday evening schedule. However, it may have been the same.

In the 1970’s WIBG in Philadelphia on Sundays aired Casey Kasem at 8 pm till midnight. Then the station would announce a sign off until 5 am for maintenance. As a kid, I always wondered what they fixing. Lol and the following day I’d tune in to see if it sounded different.

As a kid, I guess you weren't the one who cleaned the furnace filters 😁 . Of course, I'd call them a "chore", not "maintenance".

How many stations just went silent long enough for the monthly frequency check?
