What 106.7 and Rhythmic AC is supposed to sound like

Someone on one of these boards recently mentioned a station out in Stockton, California, that I've been absolutely obsessed with lately. It's Mega 100 (http://www.mega100online.com), and it has an amazing sound. An amazing variety of music...with lots of great songs from the '80s and '90s (and a good mix from the '00s as well) that we don't typically hear on the radio anymore.

Mega 100 is what rhythmic AC is supposed to sound like. The program director there created this awesome mix of music that, I feel, would be an awesome sound for Detroit. 106.7 in Detroit plays too much current music, and it's unfortunate because we already have two strong CHR stations (98.7 and 95.5) that play these songs, and 96.3 is playing some of them as well. 106.7 needs to get back to what it was intended to be.

Has anyone heard Mega 100? It's amazing. If you haven't and you're a fan of Rhythmic AC music, I'd strongly encourage you to check it out!

106.7 is now rhythmic, but based on what I know so far from the last time I've checked, 96.7/105.7 The Groove sounds better musically and at least seems more musically defined than 106.7

As far as I'm concerned, personally, WKQI Channel 95.5 is the best station there. That's how a good CHR should be programmed, mix shows and all.

I like 106.7 THE BEAT, I like that style they got cause I get to hear pop songs from back in the day like the 90's and also Today's pop music.

Overall 106.7 is not really a Top 40 station it is a Rhythemic Contemporary Station, leaning toward a Rhythemic CHR or I would call 106.7 a Rhythemic Hot AC station.

106.7 classifies itself as a Rhythmic AC station, but it's clearly just a rhythmic-leaning CHR that just plays a few "old-school" dance hits once in a while. A true Rhythmic AC station wouldn't sound nearly as much like CHR as 106.7 does.

As long as New York is programming the station, and TRUST ME New York IS programming the radio station, it will tank.
