what a catch

All day, this station out of South Alabama, WZEW was riding roughshot over WVLT. My readout stated WZEW, they were very personality oriented Adult Alternative kinda like the old MAX. WVLT was non existent in CC, they are still booming in everytime I check, no other distant signal is coming in. The only interference I have experienced on 92.1 is that new Public service outlet on rare occasions. Is this a new signal down south, first time I grabbed them. Made me miss the Geator :(

Checking the dial from South Carolina...and KESD (88.3 - Brookings, SD) from South Dakota showed up on my car stereo (RDS) for a few seconds yesterday....it's been awhile since I caught anything over 1,000 miles away...This came in over a listenable (but weak) station on the same frequncy - (88.3 WLXK - Boiling Springs NC) while I was in the town of Woodruff, SC...South of Greenville and Spartanburg. Also posted about this in the South Carolina forum...

E-skip season started way earlier than usual, folks. There was even 144mhz amateur radio skip for a brief period between FL and MI.
Today there's a big 108 opening in progress between Texas and the Carolinas, and now a growing FM MUF between Idaho and Texas...woweee!
