East Valley Trib quotes Leah Miller of the ASU kiddie station (KASC)..."the outcry is going to very large in this town" (if Power 92 goes away without a replacement). Guess we'll have the million gang banger march down Central while some low-life makes off with our '76 Gremlin Levi's Special and pimps it! This media whiz is also quoted as saying "..Power 92 makes a great deal of money...As much as we'd like to think in terms of content, it is always about the bottom line and the dollar that's made.." Guess you don't have to worry about making a buck when there's Michael Crow raising tuition every year to cover the costs! Here's a flash from the Middle Eastern Men of the Media, Leah: If it's so good, someone else will do it! Heck...it doesn't even have to be good, just look at Airhead America 14-eighty! :D

I'd pay money to see a pimped-out '76 Gremlin Levi's Special and a million gang banger march!I wonder what the "Star Spangled Banner" would sound like translated into Ebonics and Jive? See what you've done? You've started a revolution!Way to go, Dr. Akbar!Power (92) to the people! Yo, yo, yo!

Luv ya, Dr. Akbar, but please don't call KASC a kiddie station. It is a real radio station, albeit one that doesn't have much of a reach. I learned more during my short time there (it was called KASR at the time) than I did in any broadcast journalism class I took at ASU. It all comes down to learning by doing. It helped to give me a 15 year (so far) career in radio, for which I am eternally grateful.

More reach than legally authorized perhaps?I can hear the big 1260 at 44th St. and Thomas in PHX.

Wow, I just picked it up near 50th and Thomas! That means I could hear it great inside the Lost Dutchman Ride (if it were still there)

legally? wha? you worried about a college station interfering with your listening habits? the person who posted what they learned while working there is exactly right. I learned more at KASR than any class at ASU, and that was way before Mr Crow decided to raise tuition.

I've heard it driving by Chase Field, so it seems to be rather powerful for a CC operation.I do recall several months ago the outcry in the ASU student media about 101.5's flip to FreeFM, and the newly created void in the alternative format. Of course, if you walk around ASU, everyone's wearing an iPod anyway, so I'm not sure how they can justify their complaint. People can trash terrestrial radio all they want, but even the younger generations are still using it.
