What a Joke

What Joke to see the published Arbitron Numbers for ABQ..... It should be renamed the Citadel/Clear Chan Ratings! Proving what we have all known for years you GET what you PAY for!

Double C...just took a look online...there's got to be somehting wrong with these posted results at radio-info.com. Hohow does KABG-FM go from a 3.9 AQH last survey period to a no show here, and also KHFM-FM from a 3.5 AQH last survey period to a no show as well? It's one of those Arsenio Hall moments...makes ya go hmmmm?

As stations and groups assess the ROI of the cost of Arbitron, some are dropping the service or going with only twice a year instead of quarterly. Citadel has gone with twice a year in Albuquerque, and either AGM did the same or dropped Arbitron entirely. I hope the latter. The diary method as used in Albuquerque as well as the PPM used in larger markets are skewed quite downscale - can you say Welfare Mothers? After all, would you write your listening in a little book for a week for a dollar? (yes, that is why KKSS does so well).

Albuquerque is a subscriber-only market. Buy the book, and you can see the numbers for KABG and KHFM. They are, however, embargoed from the public for now.

It's really pretty stupid; numbers for AGM's stations are only embargoed from the public, which only sees the 12+ numbers anyway. 12+ buys are zero.

Yes I know 12+ radio Buys are Zero and I know (when I was at AGM) some just buy the Fall & Spring Books. I just think that if they are NOT going to show the true picture to the radio world the show NADA.

If you don't want to see the subscriber only releases and don't want to buy the book, I can solve your problem. Don't bother looking at the public releases of the numbers!

You're welcome!

(Again, I agree what they're doing is stupid. I just don't see the reason to rant about this every single quarter!)

Kent, thanks for the explanation regarding "embargoed numbers." Anyone know about or have an opinion regarding Albuquerque becoming a PPM Market?

KOB AM 6.8 ...are the barmy ramblings of the ultra-right and tea party finally hurting KOB numbers or is it something else. Splain It to me Lucy.
