The new guy on the Red Sox broadcast, Glenn Gefner I think, brought the game to an all time low tonight. It wasn’t just that he was afraid of a mouse, but that he had to go on and on about it. Have a little pride, hike up your skirt, jump on a chair and shut up, you wuss. :
they did the same on the TV broadcast... along with incessant promos for "Red Sox Nation," coverage of the Tampa Bay mascot, etc... I mean, the game WAS over early.
Yeah really LucyLu....sorry it made you uncomfortable, but its really a non-issue....the game WAS over...i know i laughed when Jerry and Don talked about it
Since I was listening on radio, I can only speak to the fact that the new kid with no 'pipes' has a hard enough time painting a picture of the game for the listener without acting like a frightened child because a mouse crawled past him. There are other ways to make a 6-0 game interesting to the casual fan (that 2004Redsox appears to be) than making your own wussy-dom the subject of the broadcast.l
Maybe Glenn's contract stated that he would bd permitted to do play-by-play or color on the air....in exchange for picking up all the beer bottles and popcorn boxes (at the stadium) after the game was over!
You know how corporate LOVES TO CONSOLIDATE POSITIONS these days!
