what a morning mess

I heard Emily from the new morning mess on 99.3 KISS-FM was let go yesterday. Bring on the morning music marathon until they figure out what to do with Mike Miller. Did the show ever stand a chance when it decided to name itself after it's predecessor? That only asked us to compare it to the original morning mess. The show failed to create an identity in over a year and truly suffered because it was afraid of the confrontation we came to love about the original morning mess. Either way I say Emily was the true driving force behind the new morning mess and at times seemed like she was held back by her co-host who lack the spontaneity needed to succeed in morning drive. I hope someone gives her a chance to get back in the biz and prove she wasn't one of the one hit wonders her first station's mission statement was founded upon.

I think you are correct about them not forming their own identity. They were always the "new morning mess" when that should have been fixed right away.

I met both Emily and Mike last year on the 4th of July when they were having an awesome picnic. I didn't even notice a hint of any problems with their show, except for the fact that the "Old Mess" was somehow funnier. Even they had problems early on when they moved on to California.

KISS FM removed the Morning Mess area from their main site at http://www.993kissfm.com

however it can still be accessed at http://www.993kissfm.com/pages/NewMess.html

The latest entry by Mike and Emily was yesterday. It is "clear" that CC didn't even give Emily any prior notice. They let the show run for a year to test it out and now I don't know what they're going to do with the AM drive slot. I believe they will retain Miller though. He used to be on during the evenings with another Mike and they were torn apart as well. Hmmm.

The line-up

Mike Miller will be moving to PM Drive.

Morning Drive will be a syndicated show - not sure who yet.

Middays will also be a synidicated show - Ryan Seachrist.

All of that will probably start Monday, June 16.

Also... BOB 94.9's PD Joe Kelly was canned. JT Bosch takes over as PD of both BOB and KISS.

Any guesses as to who is next at CC?

I guess KISS will have to learn the hard lesson that WTPA learned...and that is that syndicated AM drive in this market does not work.

Maybe, though, the syndicated shows can bring some real hip new music to Kiss. Maybe. ::)

Also let go was program director of BOB Joe Kelly
He is being replaced by KISS pd JT Bosch
Also WNCI from Columbus OH morning show will be syndicated on KISS so no replacement will be needed it is Mike McCoy's morning show (former KISS PD)

I heard Elvis was going to syndicate out of NY...Maybe that's next for KISS Harrisburg?

I think that firing Emily was the worst decision ever! I mean, what else is there to listen to in Harrisburg...92.1 is the worst station around, they are not funny and they act like little kids. Mike and Emily were at least a good pair. Maybe they could've gotten some new things to talk about and do on the show but overall they were pretty good. Now all we have is music and some new guys who don't even live in this area, pretty stupid if you ask me. They should probably just go ahead and fire the producers who made this stupid decision.

Does anyone out there like the changes made at WHKF? I miss the old WHKF, I started listening 96.9 WLAN. WLAN is what a top 40 station should sound like.
