What A Pleasant Surprise!

This afternoon, I turned on WLS-FM and found John Records Landecker in for Greg Brown. This is the first time that he's been on the afternoon drive shift since being replaced by Brown in Oct. 2007.

He sounds great! WLS-FM needs him and Fred Winston on the station, either middays or on weekends to liven up the station and make it Chicago radio, not New York.

Yep, heard him today for the first time. He does sound like he is again having fun on the radio.

I like Greg Brown, but more for the mid-day slot, say from Noon to 3, with Fred Winston 9 to Noon. AM Drive would be no other than Lujack and Edwards.

If you like what you hear (or if you don't), you need to let WLS-FM know you thoughts.

JRL's "filling in" just might be an audition to guage the public's reaction.

I've been thinking, and hoping, the same thing. He's best during the afternoon drive. Brown, whom I also like a lot, is best from Noon to 3pm, like you said. I like Winston on the station in late mornings also.

If JRL does come back, and Winston joins, that would be great! If they move Brown to middays, it would be nice if he did his "Brown Bag Lunch" show again; that was my favorite on WJMK. Hopefully these are some of the surprises that Fowler mentioned in Feder's column in June.

Only time will tell, though.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear ol' Uncle Lar on the Big 94.7 (whoops, just doesn't sound the same). I would bet my next weeks' paycheck that the powers to be at 94.7 have been in discussion with his agent. Will they reach an agreement, only time will tell.

But, if he agreed to WUBT and then the awful 1590 signal fiasco, it would seem logical that he would at least entertain the idea of returning to the station that made him famous. Just my opinion.

True, it was good to hear JRL back. And it would be great to have him back on the station for good.
I'd keep one thing in mind: as long as no one replaces Dick Biondi, any other change works for me.
One more thing--I'll have to put my favor of Biondi on hold until he starts playing my requests again. I'm still one of his most loyal fans, but for heaven's sake, a person can only take so much.
