Well, there goes another chance to get Classic Hits in Atlanta.... or IS IT??
I just realized how we can get Classic Hits back. That answer comes in three letters: CBS.
CBS has 2 FM stations, one is set to change to sports, the other is VERY successful. I believe they can buy another FM station. CBS could buy a suburban FM station and move it into the market, or buy one of the lower-ranking stations actually IN the market.
CBS usually does oldies REALLY well, and are not the cookie cutter oldies you usually get with, say Clear Channel or COX. They could buy the rights to the "Peach" logo used for WPCH in Atlanta and Macon, revive another brand (Z), or launch their own original brand.
I mean face it: they are the biggest option. CC seems bent on making sure the Peach is Dead and Buried in atlanta, giving us a small taste of hope before yanking it away. Cumulus brought an Oldies station, and messed it up in the stupidest fashion ever. COX has 97.1 the river, which is classic rock.
