What about them??? Do they have the money to purchase KLOL????

Tell you the truth, I'd rather let the station go dark than have another religious broadcaster telling us what is right from wrong.

Either way, I think they don't have the financial resources for that anyways.

Does anybody else see the irony in this statement. ;D

Seriously I doubt they have the resources to pull off that type of acquisition.

It appears you already knew the answer when you asked the question which started this thread. You asked, 'Do they have the money to purchase KLOL????' In the last post you answered yourself, 'yes they do!!!'

Another Dee Dee Dee, it would seem Chuck! :)

I just enjoy reading your posts!! Especially when you bad mouth spanish stations!! Even GOD stations as you all call them! ;)

You couldn't possibly be directing that answer to me. I have never bashed a Spanish language station. It would be pretty silly of me to make a reference to a station as a "GOD" station, since I work for SALEM Communications.

Who are you directing your statement?

Even one of the rimshots would be way out of RA's price range. This is the sort of operation that is best suited to taking over basket case AM's, not Class C sticks with price tags approaching nine digits.

If Liberman gets ahold of one of the MC sticks, one or more of their current AM's will go on the market. RA should look at that possibility.

Fine, how about go "off the air".

Believe me, even selling all the little buggy translators, the small class A station in Pasadena, and KUZN will not even get them halfway to the amount of money they need. Not even one fourth of the way.

Nothing personal mrtexmex2007, but you really need to look back at all the posts on this topic. First off, JD has not posted on this topic (yet). Secondly, most of the folks who have posted to this topic have given you their opinions (for which you asked). As far as bashing any religious programming, some of the folks have expressed that it is not what they wish to hear (which everyone has music tastes that differ and from time-to-time, express that on this board). Please take the time to read the post and remember that many of these folks have been in the business for a long time. I feel certain that your question has been answered as best as possible by these folks in good faith.

Now my disclaimer: I do listen to KSBJ (actually KYBJ) and enjoy the programming as well as the personalities, so please don't label this as bashing religious programming.

Have a Nice Day :)

I'll be brief. Radio Aleluya is a small player. Translators are relatively cheap investments; they picked up KUZN for pennies on the dollar and there is no chance that they would be in the running to buy a full market Houston FM station.

Compared to KSBJ, Radio Aleluya is one of those stations that always rants about the end of the world and how we sin everyday. They are always asking for money and uses it to what they say "expand the word". Sometimes, I forget that this is an FCC liscenced station and not a pirate.

KSBJ is one special station that rarely preaches and plays a good variety of Music. I also enjoy KSBJ, but Radio Aleluya is another story.

Hi Oldjohnny,

Thanks for the input as I have no clue to what Radio Alleluya broadcasts (that language barrier thing kickin). I agree, KSBJ is a great station with a good mix going. Again... no bashing intended.

Poops

You know what? I agree with you all! Radio Aleluya should just stick to playing music!! Just like Paulino Bernal plays music mostly all day!!! Or also KBRN-AM they play music all day. No bla bla bla bla. Like the other stations. (Spanish Religion)

They are a mix of talk and music. It is a bit unorganized as it plays some mix of Regional and AC based Christian. Pretty much, most of the day it preaches. On some nights, it is pre-recorded. Unlistenable to people in the North, Northwest, West, and Southwest.

Believe me, I'll take KSBJ any day over Aleluya. At least at KSBJ, they aren't control freaks. They may ask for donations, but it is not as bad as Aleluya. That is all it does all day(well, everytime I tune in).
