What about the 7 second delay at WRKO

Maybe Neanderpaul can come back for a cameo appearance on this board.

Doesn't WAAF have strict rules about f word s word 7 deadly sin words, etc?

So if DePetro said the F word and the 7 second delay came and went - the producer -
and probably the program director - allowed it to happen.

Just a thought.

Yeah but "F-*-G" isnt one of the seven dirty words, it may not be appropriate but it's not defined as one of the seven dirty words.

Its sort of like the tunnel collapse of the Big Dig. Everyone wants to blame Matt Amarillo when they should be going after Bechtel, Parsons Brinkerhoff. Here we are going after the producer when John Depetro was giving Entercom exactly what it wanted - more coarsening of the American culture on talk radio.

Pure and simple, the architects of this kind of radio are the suits at Entercom. When it comes back to bite them in their wallet they scream that they knew nothing about it and blame the messenger THEY put behind the mic.

Maybe the delay wasn't working. Someone could've forgotten to thread the delay tape onto the take-up reel of the playback deck stretched across the room from the record deck... :D

Dude, you are really, really over thinking this. It was Depetro's screw up, not an Entercom sanctioned, pre planned, or prepared event, period. He went too far probably in the heat of the moment and he's been dealt with. AS much as I am unimpressed with the moral and cultural tone of Entercom Boston over the past ten years or so, that doesn't mean that you blame them for EVERY stupid thing that eminates from their stick. Depetro is an idiot, end of story but now half the city knows his name, most of whom didnt know or care this time last week.

Not this week.

But, hey, the FCC money machine is a work in progress.
