What am I hearing in Vegas on 93.7?

Radio Locator doesn't list anything there, but a signal is audible on the west side of town, playing oldies...Friday afternoon a repeat of that day's Rush Limbaugh broadcast was airing.
 
KADD is on 93.5, not 93.7, and if it's been on the air at all, it was only for some testing to show off the signal to brokers during NAB in April. (I heard it was on, but never heard it for myself when it was there, and I checked the channel quite often that week.)
 
This was definitely on 93.7, though there was nothing there today. When music was being played, there was nothing else, i.e. no IDs or other elements. Pirate? I drove around town doing errands while it was on, trying to get a feel for where the signal was coming from; I live near DI and Spring Mountain and the signal seemed best near that area. East of the Strip it was basically gone.
 
I have also heard on 93.7, the oldies, Rush, alternative music and jazz. Over in the Summerlin area around Hwy 95, there was a female announcer saying "Jazzy 93.7". Around Serene/Eastern and Hwy 215, where Walmart, Home Depot, In And Out Burger are, alternative music is playing constantly. However, it is a low powered transmitter and disappears about a mile up/down Eastern Avenue in both directions. There is no identification, it almost sounds like music for a restaurant. Finally, out in Henderson, up Anthem Parkway near Hampton, I have heard conversation, from a Talk station with Rush Limbaugh in the late afternoon. All of these stations fade in and out as you drive by the various areas. The two in Henderson are usually very strong in the areas I have described. I have assigned a push button to 93.7 to check in from time to time. My guess is low powered transmitters being used.
Perhaps also, it could be a "skip" of a distant FM signal, due to the towering clouds in our area or in another state to the east of Nevada, even in the midwest. The FM signals come in like a local station from an area 200-300 miles away. About two weeks ago, I listened to a FM Country Station that was broadcasting on 93.7 from Salina, Kansas. It faded in and out with other stations in the background for a period of about 45 minutes. You can read more about "Dx'ing" on the radio on the Radio Info site, scroll down the list.
 
Commuting from work just now, Rush was on again. The signal seems strongest right around the Rainbow Curve, Hwy 95/Rainbow, 95/Jones area. Now I'm *really* curious. BTW, I was down at 215/Eastern today and got to hear whatever is on 93.7 down there...as stated above, only music. Hmmmmmm!
 
With so many "sightings" and so many different formats and types of programming, I'm wondering if this is not just some higher than normal powered XM/Sirius car converters re-radiating. Many of them convert the satelite signal to a "blank" spot on the FM dial. The Feds found a lot of over powered converters a few years back but there are still a lot of them out there. 93.7 might just be a preset they have or a convenient spot for people to adjust the converters output to. One morning I listened to Howard Stern's sateliute show for about 6 miles westbound on Flamingo on 98.9 when the KWWN/KXPT translator was off the air. I was eventually able to determine which car was re-radiating the XM/Sirius signal when they turned right and went north and I lost them. Might be a couple of different pirates. The feds would love to come to LV to harvest them!
 
When I first heard this signal, my first thought was that I must be in traffic next to someone with satellite radio, and I was hearing their converter. (I too have suddenly heard Howard Stern that way in traffic) It must have some power, though--my car radio picked it up all the way from Hwy 95 and Durango to Spring Mountain and Decatur, or 15 miles.
 
I picked up a Rush Limbaugh broadcast, Friday around 4:25 PM, near Railroad Pass Casino... coming back from Boulder City. Then again, as I head up Eastern Avenue to Anthem. Somebody must be re-broadcasting the previous day's Rush show, since it is heard late afternoon during drive time and he is on in the morning slot 9-noon. That is, unless Rush's show is a network feed available at any time. The signal being broadcast is weak and fuzzy, but listenable at times. A real mystery ???
 
Yes, Rush has been on weekdays starting at 3 pm on this mystery signal--the programs are a repeat of what aired live the same day. One day, between 2:30 and 3:00 there was 30 minutes of Limbaugh commercial parodies.
 
This week Mark Levin was added to this mystery broadcast...this weekend they're playing droney, new-agey music, the kind of thing you'd hear on the public radio program Music from the Hearts of Space.
 
I was driving on the WEST side of Las Vegas and heard the Oldies playing on FM 93.7 once again. This was on 9/3/11, Saturday afternoon and night. I had a couple of stops to make and put on 75 miles driving around in the Las Vegas valley.
The signal from the mystery signal playing oldies was the very strongest -loud and clear lighting the stereo light on my FM car radio at the intersection of CHARLESTON & DURANGO. If you are familiar with the Las Vegas area, there is a big red broadcasting tower standing in a field or behind businesses nearby. If I remember correctly, this may be a tower from an AM station. Could it be possible that they are operating a low power FM signal from this broadcast tower?
It is interesting that the signal, very weak most times, covers almost the entire Las Vegas valley area. That makes me almost convinced that the signal is eminating from the tower. If you are line of sight or above the terrain -- in the foothills, where homes are, the signal comes in. If not, like in the lower Henderson area along Boulder Hwy or 95 heading south to Boulder City... no signal- zip - nada.
I'm wondering if the tower is one of the AM stations -- 1460 (the old KENO) or 1410 (KSHP) or 1340 (KRLV)??? Maybe somebody out there has a clue.
 
Could this be KVYL; Vinyl 93.7 from Mohave valley, AZ?? They are running the full 6 kw at a low height....maybe some weird valley lineup? The internet indicates Timeless Cool format. This station is relatively close to the main site of KOAS.
 
1460 is still KENO, 3 towers located at Simmons and Holly.
KSHP is up on MLK just south of Brooks next to the 4 towers of KWWN.

This has been on every day this week, airing Rush and Levin in the afternoons (not on air before about 2:30 pm), and music on weekends. No IDs, no announcers, no commercials. Today instrumental smooth jazz was playing.
 
I agree with Pebble... The times of the Rush, Levin broadcasts are always in the afternoon. The music genre varies too. I just wonder why KXNT who has Rush hasn't looked into this rebroadcast?
