A big drawback from trying to crack a big market without enough experience, you may get a position there, but if your skills aren't there yet, you'll likely be pigeonholed into a certain position based on assumptions on what you can't do. You may improve your skills down the road, but management won't hear it because first impressions last. And if you put together a killer aircheck that is above and beyond your day to day skill level, the new employer will hear it as soon as you hit the air.
The key to putting together an aircheck that will get their attention IS to aircheck. Everyday, period. And listen to yourself, everyday.
