What are the right things stations in Memphis are doing?

ok we are in a slump here... time for some more productive and positive discussion...

What are the right things stations are doing and what stations?

What are good things that have been done in the past?

What are things that haven't been tried here?

Well I have to give credit where credit is due, FM 100's "Whatever Weekends" is a clever way to introduce the Jack/Bob formart to the market.
'RBO 103.5 picking up the Grizzles is a big plus for them. Outside of basketball season their numbers tend to slide down. I have noticed their attempts to team up with TV stations for publicity..Smart, inexpensive move.
As before mentioned on this board, the smooth jazz, r&b mix that 88.5 fm is doing is a nice idea and sounds good. They saw a whole in the market and went for it.
WDIA's Jaye & Rufus all blues Saturday's is a great way to show respect to their two late great legendary broadcasters.
I give credit to K-97 for the Paternity Test Tuesday's in the morning bits..It's been done in other markets and on TV. Tacky? yes.. entertaining, demo hitting concept? yes.

The Ronald McDonald House Marathon on 103.

Nascar on KIX.

Flinn not flipping a format in the past 30 days.

Anytime Stan Bell is on the air.

:)

all elvis from 9 to 3 yesterday on wrvr! -free

sunday morning flashback on 103! -free

classic country and george klein on wmcam! -free

chance to read something positive on this board...priceless!

I'm going to have to think about this one for a while.....nothing immediately comes to mind. Someone has to be doing something good, but maybe I'm just too jaded to see it.

WREC's revamped news department - good to hear Bill Dries on my radio again. The Tigers moving there is good, too. Oh, the addition of Steve Butler to mornings is a positive, too.

George Klein's Elvis Hour - I miss it on Kix. Glad WMC-AM picked it up.

I also agree with the post about NASCAR on Kix. No longer must I strain to a far-away station to hear it!
