What Blown Up Station Do You Miss Most?

My choice far and away is Z-93(Nov. 1, 2011 it will be four years since Z has been gone). WING-FM would be a close second. In fact, on August 3rd it will be the 10th anniversary of Hot 102.9...and the day that WING-FM was blown up. A sad day in Dayton radio indeed.

In Cincinnati WSWD 94.9, WAQZ 97.3 Stern Years, WBOB 1160 Original sports lineup.
The Sound was an awesome station indeed. WCLI-FM/Click 101.5 reminds me a ton of The Sound. RIP WSWD.

WLW before it jumped the shark. Give me 1984 version of WLW, with talk and music, including the Original Hot Wax Weekend and the original Truckin' Bozo. Fun listening times. And give me Taft Broadcasting before the Seven Hills exodus.

How about the late 70's to mid 80's version of Q102. They were cutting edge and ahead of their time then. WEBN was also good around that time period also.

I really miss the "old" WKRC-550 with Jerry Thomas in the mornings as it was in the 1970's when they were still playing music (oldies) with a good blend of news, information and LIVE programming! Radio will never be the same.

I agree with KR4BD - I miss the old days of WKRC in the 1970's. Plus, I miss the days of Jockey Joe Kelly and the rest of the WLW Staff. That's when they were the really Big One.

Oh yeah, I forgot one...WDJK/DJ 95/Power 95. They had a terrible signal to work with, but it was "The Little Engine That Could". A lot of talent came out of that station...Jeff Stevens, Brian Savage, Allen Rantz, Sloppy Joe, Jack Rutledge, Joe Mama, Brian Bruchey, and Joe Hardin AKA Jammin' Joe Kelly. Stevens is with Mix, and Rutledge last I heard was in Sales at Cox. The others are mostly out of radio.

WKRC - 550-AM of the mid-1960's:

Stan Matlock - 6 A.M. - 10 A.M.
Jerry Thomas - 10 A.M. - 2 P.M.
Bob Jones - 2 P.M. - 6 P.M.
Ted McKay - 8 P.M. - 12 P.M.

and in between these shows, good, up-to-the minute news, sports, and information.

I miss the late 1980s/early 1990s "Dawn Patrol"...with Eddie Fingers, Robin Wood, and Bob the Producer.

Some good morning radio programming.

Can I also say that I miss the smooth jazz that aired on *I think* it was 94.9? back in the day; as well as Saturday Nights on WARM 98.

My mother (god rest her soul); always used to listen to Sunday Morning Music Hall on 90.9 with Carmen DeLeone....

Coming from a musician background myself- the classical music that they played on that program was some good stuff.

Now that I think back on it, I do miss these programs the most....

The station that I miss the most in Dayton is WVUD FM100, in it's hayday it was the Best rock station around. As far as Cincinnati it would have to be WOXY 97.7FM "97x...The Future of Rock n Roll" they don't make them like that anymore!

I'm still pining over Boss Radio WUBE 1230 with Big Al Law & his staff of Boss Jocks in the mid-late 60's.

Oldies.. 1530 version of Oldies...
CHR.. I always loved Z-93 until I heard old airchecks of 104.7's five year run in the seventies ('TUE was smokin')....
