What Commercials Do You Remember Years Later?

From waaay back:

I.J. Fox furs "...the store that women adore...where good things cost no more"

Dave Dinger Ford "....on route 128/in Braintree/LOOK FOR THE BIG FORD SIGN!!"

Albany Carpet Cleaning - "GRIT! (sfx bed:abrasive noise)..G.R.I.T. GRIT!"
".....the people who live on Rugg Road.....honestly......"

Adams & Swett Carpeting: "ANdrew 8-8000"

Raymond's Dept. Stores: "You can't beat Raymonds, so why pay more?"

Filene's- at Christmas time - "F-I-L-E-N-E-S" atop a great music bed with bells!

Whiting's Dairy "...here's to cheer/let's all sing loud and clear/it's eggnog time/Whiting eggnog time!"

Sears "Sears is the store/come and explore/give us a ring/Sears has everything!"

United Farmer's Dairy: "United Farmer's dairy foods for flavor."

What are yours?
Who is your favorite jock/announcer voicing ads? Norm Nathan is mine by far!

M
Stuck in the 60's I guess!

> The Barry & Elliot TV ad for Jordan's where a sexy bombshell Italian model sits down next to Elliot on a sofa, says something in Italian which he doesn't understand only to have Barry translate: "She says your car's being towed"...out rushes Elliot..and Barry takes his place with a big smile.

The oldest add jingle I remember stuck in my head from my childhood... (I guess that's why they got taken off the air)
"A silly millimeter longer 101... a silly millimeter longer 101.. 101..101..."
It was a Benson and Hedges cigarette commercial. I was very young when cigarette adds disappeared its odd that I find myself signing this one.

And I'll bet many of us know what the three B's are in Borax!

Barry & Elliot's TV ads did have a great air of creativity, but of course, the ones that got them started were on radio some thirty years ago...
"Chopping and Slashing! Chopping and Slashing!"
back in the day when they called just the Moody Street in Waltham location their home.

and some that still ring in my memory are:
the New England Dragway spots...
"Sun-daaaaaaaaaayyyyyy!"

The elder (late) Ernie Boch...
"come on down!"

The (late) Bill Marlowe for Floramo's
"the meat falls off the bone!"

and the Beer ad jingles...
Schaefer:
"the one beer to have when you're having more than one!"
(was Schaefer Stadium our first "corporate" sponsored venue in New England?)

Budweiser:
"When you say Bud-weiser, You've said it all!"

Ballentine:
"Who is the ale man, it could be you!"

If I'm not mistaken, the "silly milimeter longer" ads were for
Chesterfield Filter 101s.

Jum who used to smoke 'em

Grossman's (sung) "Here comes Grossman's, here comes Grossman's, here comes Grossman's with bargains for you"

National Association Of Broadcasters Ad (sung) "Who listens to radio?...only 150 million people...that's all"

The ad the old Zayre's ran in late summer for several years (sung) "Before you go back to school, go to Zayre's...you'll learn the ABCs of savings there..."

Tom Black Insurance Co. (sung) "The insurance company that takes all risks...that's Tom Black"

Jack Gale, one of the several individuals forced to use the name "Fenway" at the old WMEX (late 1963-Spring 1965) was one of the best on-the-air voiceover
talents I remember.
