As a Cubs fan, I wholeheartedly hope you're right. 
Unfortunately I don't hear Reds games much now that I live in Texas, but it seems from a baseball standpoint this was a desperate deal for both sides. The Reds had to move Griffey, and for some reason the White Sox think crowding their outfielder even further is a good idea, not to mention Griffey no longer is as good as the images his name conjures up.
