What did Sirius and XM do with all those extra channels?

I know this isn't the place, but if I was a subscriber I wouldn't have been happy with the channels in this category that I would have ended up with, though Escape seems to have returned to its old way of doing things despite the attempt to satisfy "Movin' Easy" fans.

So I'm asking what did they do? I read somewhere they opened those channels to competitors.
 
I haven't had satellite radio since last August when I got a newer car that didn't have a good place to mount the radio.

I missed it for a little while but it irritated me that whenever they chopped something it was a channel I liked instead of one of the many rock channels which play variations of the same thing.

In my opinion they never could do a really good standards or MOR format. If they could have done that, I would have stayed.

The 40's on 4 can be a nice diversion at times. I wonder how long that will be around?
 
It's a mystery to me why Sirius/XM has never put together a high-quality standards channel. The Sinatra channel and 40s on 4 go in the right direction, but neither plays the Great American Songbook pop hits with sufficient breadth.

I would hope a long time. It's not how old people are who were alive when the music you like was popular, but how good the music is.
