What Did You Learn Today?

Had to spend a lot of time in the car today. Discovered two things of note:

1) The Red Sox guy (Dave O’Brien?) sounds just like the great Bob Barker of “The Price is Right” Fame and,

2) Dale Arnold and Michael Holly (sp?) have fallen so in love with themselves, I tuned in the show five different times and they weren’t talking about sports, they were just talking about themselves. Were the phones broken in FLA or do they think they are really that fascinating?

1. i agree....dave o'brien sounds way too phony, and maybe he's just trying to fit in, but he tries to be too funny all the time and his voice is irritating "and that ball is driven FaHoul outta play"

2. i tuned in for most of the second half of their show today....i thought it was pretty good, they still ask too many easy questions to some of their guests, but i never got the impression they were in love with themselves

Didn't hear any guests when I was listening (which I do believe they normally handle very well) but the parts I did hear were all about them. To be honest: I don't care that they had to share a hotel room. That's not why I tune in.

One sure sign that talk show host has fallen in love with themselves is the verbage. This is not verbatim, but close, 'You want to know what his problem is? You want to? I'll tell you, see. Listen up, his problem, that I'm going to tell you about, is: he's the same height as I am! Now that's his problem'

Given that most listeners have no idea how talk the host is, and the whole idea could have been presented in 1/4 of the words, it may be time for the host and his ego to get room. ;)

But that's just one gal talking...

What I learned today is that Finnigan's Free Fall or whatever the hell it is may be the worst example of brown nose radio since Hannity pulled his face out of Dick Cheney's backside. Did anyone else hear the interview with Harry Spence? It was hard to make out what Finneral was saying, given that his tongue kept scraping against Spence's boot.

Humiliating. Shameless. The guy is an absolute toadie for anyone in power. Spence may be the best guy in state government, but with all the DSS horror stories of late, like dead four year olds on dopamine, how do you not throw a single fastball at the guy?

Is Finnerman looking for another state job already?

Finneran for Marty Meehan's seat?

not for 5 years, right?

I don't think WRKO can survive that long!

Well, just as I suspect we will figure our how to survive global warming (if a few folks can figure out how to make money at it), I think that WRKO just might survive too (contrary to all the doomsday predictions!). ;)

However, I was referring to Finneran's legal issues - I thought part of the sentence is that he is prohibited from running for public office for 5 years.
