What digital OTA channels do you get?

My digital antenna sits on the 2nd floor of our house, and we are able to pick up these channels:

10-1 WXIA-DT: NBC Atlanta
10-2 WXIA-SD: NBC Atlanta 480i
19 WGCL-DT: CBS Atlanta
20 WTBS-DT: TBS
21 WPBA-DT: PBS Atlanta
25 WATL-DT: WB Atlanta
27 WAGA-DT: Fox Atlanta
34 WUVG-DT: Univision Athens
39-1 WSB-DT: ABC Atlanta
39-2 WSB-DT2: ABC News
42 ATLC-DT: "The Atlanta Channel"
43 WUPA-DT: UPN Atlanta
44-1 WHSG-DT: TBN Monroe/Atlanta
44-2 WHSG-DT2: Church Channel
44-3 WHSG-DT3: Jesus Christ TV (W55BM-TV on analog)
44-4 WHSG-DT4: Enlace
51-1 WPXA PAX
51-2 PAX West
51-3 Worship
51-4 Faith
59-1 WYFF-DT: NBC Greenville
59-2 WYFF-WP

I used to live in Roswell and we were lucky to get PAX. I am surprised I can't receive WGTV-DT though, since the tower is on top of Stone Mountain of all places.
Edited by livingfruitvirus on 06/05/05 11:31 PM.

You get Greenville, SC! How clear does it come in?

I would think you could get Birmingham, which is about as
far from Atlanta as Greenville is. WBRC, WVTM, and WIAT, I assume,
still have their towers on Red Mountain; WTTO and WABM have come on
the air since I left there, so I don't know anything about their tower
locations.

Do you not get WATC-DT 41? I get everything on your list plus WATC. I've received 59-1 WYFF from Greenville before during a good tropo opening.

I've also received the following DT stations from Chattanooga during a good tropo opening:

13 - WRCB-DT (NBC)
29 - WTCI-DT (PBS)
35 - WTVC-DT (ABC)
40 - WDSI-DT (FOX)
47 - WDEF-DT (CBS)

However, keep in mind I am in Northern Cobb County which is closer to Chattanooga and I have an outside antenna up about 50 ft.

interesting to get WYFF-DT, but on second thought not too surprising. WYFF broadcasts from Ceasar's Head--the highest point in SC I believe and almost 4000 ft above sea level---this is much higher than Red MT. in AL and probably a straight shot to north Atlanta. And channel 59 is is very quiet in ATL, I would think--not much interference.

Caesar's Head is about 3500 feet above sea level; there are
no mountains above 4000 feet in South Carolina. But yes, it
is much higher than Red Mountain (Mt. Cheaha, at about 2400
feet, is the highest mountain in Alabama).

Could WLOS Asheville, NC, get a signal into Atlanta? I
believe their tower is on Mt. Pisgah, which is getting into
the 6000-foot range.

WGTV-DT would have to be on the air for you to get it. Last time I checked, WGTV-DT was STILL not on the air, along with the rest of the GTV network.

A quick check of AVSForum confirms--still nothing out of WGTV. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=5491441&highlight=wgtv#post5491441

And a quick personal question--does WTBS-DT do HD or just SD?

How's that personal? :/

WTBS-DT is standard definition at a 1080i resolution. In other words, it's PDTV, but it still looks 10x cleaner and sharper than analog.

Awesome.

It's personal because it has absolutely nothing to do with the thread but I wanted to know.
