My Login/password never seems to be the right combination, so its impossible to listen on the computer for me. Too damn hard to log in & when I call to ask why their phone menu system drives me away like I've been scalded. How about a simple log in?

Barry,

try downloading the Sirius Widget from Yahoo Widgets. You can enter your username and password once and it'll always work!

...my favourite things about Sirius:

1) Stern in a more relaxed setting (the extreme anger from having to battle the NBC and FCC jerks make the pre-Sirius stuff almost unlistenably bitter by comparison)

2) Playboy Radio's morning show (Andrea Lowell is a livin' doll)

3) Lynn Samuels on Sirius Left 146 (the Jewish grandmother I never had, heh heh)

4) Mojo Nixon's "Lyin' C***s*****s" and The Wiseguy Show on Raw Dog

5) the Blues, Sinatra and Grateful Dead channels

6) CBC Radio One

Likes: Programming, all the variety in both talk and music. It's really hard to be bored of Sirius. Living in the Dallas area the local stations are awful including the news station(s). Even though CNN and NPR are national broadcasts they're generally more interesting that what is offered here. Another thing I like is having it on long distance trips, once you leave the major metro areas you're pretty much getting country or gospel.

Dislikes: As stated in previous posts, sound quality and dated or incorrect traffic information. But those two small issues wouldn't discourage me from buying the service or recommending it to others. After a few road trips with friends spending the weekend with Sirius has inspired my friends to purchase units of their own. It's definitely money well spent. I don't think there is any better selling tool, to bad I don't work for em!

The worst part of Sirius is the warranty center (which isn't Sirius but a contractor). I had to go to the BBB regarding a warranty issue once. They're awful. If I didn't like the service so much I would've cancelled my subscription.

Likes:
-BBC Radio 1
-CBC Radio 3
-Plenty of news options
-I liked Sirius Left before they canned the Stephanie Miller Show. It actually kept me awake during PM drive.

Dislikes:
-Crappy audio for the talk radio/news/traffic collection (I may as well listen to AM radio)
-Crappy audio for sirius.com feed. I'm sure it might be better if I pay for the service, but I'd rather loose channels and have the same options as I'd get from from Dish network.

I like the Elvis channel & Howard Stern. Otherwise I would have stayed with XM because:

Way better sound quality on XM. Sirius sounds crummy more often than not on music channels, it is waaay too compressed
Raw Dog has too much extra nonsense & little stand-up, Comedy 150 on XM is all stand-up which is so much better and doesn't sound like it's in a can.
Blue Collar & Foxxhole are ok but get old really quick - I like random quick doses of comedy, not the same material & people over & over.
I liked WSM on Sirius but they dropped it.
Dallas has it's own traffic station on XM instead of having to wait through Houston's reports on Sirius which always seems to be on when I tune in ;D
Signal drops out a lot more on Sirius than it did with XM. Has to do with their orbit patterns & altitude but it is definitely noticeable.
Oh and did I say the sound quality is crummy?

I would a la carte Howard Stern & Elvis, then use XM for everything else if given the option.

I bought two Sirius receivers when I lived in rural Florida and loved it. To me it's going down the toilet. I was really upset when they dumped WSM, and now during Christmas they blow off all the Classic Country listeners and substitute it with 24/7 Christmas music. I was so pissed I subscribed to XM for a month. Now I wonder if I can ever listen to Sirius again. I could care less about Howard Stern, gimme my oldies and country oldies. Yes I like Norm N Nite and Cousin Brucie, but who know how long they will be around. If you like oldies, XM has a salute to a different radio station from the past every Friday night. I was glued to XM on Friday the 22nd when they saluted WBAM in Montgomery. Now thru the threads I see they have WSM from midnight to 6am ET. Makes me wonder why I invested in my Sirius receivers which of course will cost me to replace with XM. Sirius needs to "listen" to their listener feedback, they don't care at all.

ummmm how do you know listener feedback isn't telling to my feedback to dump all that oldies and country crap?

Now now, we pay for this radio to hear stuff we cannot get on local radio, or is available but the market we are in is not large enough.

So if he wants his country oldies and oldies, good, please give it to him!!! He is paying for it, its not likeit is free radio where they can pull the rug out from under you at any given moment.

In Sirius land, jazz, blues, dance, rap, oldies, country, bluegrass, all those other fringe formats, standards, elevator music, etc. exist and no one's feelings should be hurt.

I do have on thing that Sirius should add, but I have yet to find it, maybe its here and I just can't find:
Where is a station playing all Gregorian Chants? I need to find that station!! I love Shade 45, love Stern and Maxim and Playboy, Hits 1 is great, like E-Street radio, like all the sports, love the dance/electronica stations......but no GREGORIAN CHANTS!!!! grrrrr

I actually have both XM and Sirius.

LIKES (XM):
1) Opie and Anthony
2) FOX Sports Radio
3) DEDICATED Philadelphia traffic channel
4) MLB Baseball
5) College football, for Penn State

DISLIKES:
1) Horrible sound quality on music and some talk channels
2) Audio on traffic channels VERY HARD to listen toat times.
3) Baseball: only home team broadcasts.
4) Boneyard: too obscure at times
5) Lucy: OK, but had better variety when it first launched. Should have kept it all on Fred.
6) Fred: see Boneyard

LIKES (SIRIUS):
1) NFL Football
2) Better sound quality on music channels
3) Las Vegas traffic/weather, but see below...
4) Buzzsaw: great selection, better than Boeyard
5) 1st Wave: Hit after hit

DISLIKES:
1) Hoo Hoo
2) Bubba
3) Ferrall
4) No FSR
5) Las Vegas traffic/weather having to share with Detroit.

well... he started it. ;)

I'm with you: take what you like leave the rest... but guys who think they are the final arbiter need tweaking sometimes.

Siri SUCKS they don't care about their Gregorian Chant customers.

Bring back Planet Jazz...

LIKE: BBC Radio 1 adjusted/delayed for the time zone difference

DISLIKE: Inconsistency of display of song title/artist played on Radio 1. Especially recently, you will just see the name of the DJ.

Just got a new vehicle last weekend which came with a 6-month subscription to Sirius. (I had Sirius previously and dropped it around 2 years ago after they dropped WSM).

Having satellite factory-installed on the vehicle makes all the difference in the world. I had lots of trouble before with signal fall-outs.

I listen mostly to The Roadhouse, Prime Country, and Outlaw Country since I get to hear songs largely ignored by country stations today, with secondary presets on 50s (Sirius Gold), 60s, 70s, 80s, Classic Vinyl & Rewind. I prefer to listen to what I can't hear everywhere else on the air, which is probably the main reason for satellite in the first place.

As a dislike, I've already noticed repetition and channel overlap. One time last week I heard "Imagine" by John Lennon on Totally 70s and Movin' EZ - at the exact same time. Also heard "Honey (Open That Door)" by Ricky Skaggs on the country channels 3 times in 2 days.

Someone on here previously mentioned Siriusly Sinatra not having enough Sinatra and too much of his peers. With other channels wholly devoted to one artist - Elvis, Springsteen, Grateful Dead, and now Neil Diamond in a limited engagement - it's almost inconceivable to not have one solely for The Man.

Siriusly Sinatra should seriously be split, allowing room for a true Easy Listening channel - a combination of MOR hits and soft instrumentals. (Movin' EZ does not fill this niche at all). It's somewhat surprising how under-represented the Standards category is on Sirius when you consider the number of channels for Pop, Rock, and Hip-hop. Since they carry ESPN and Radio Disney - formats available over the air - one suggestion could be having at least one of the syndicated services such as Dial Global, Music of Your Life, or the new Jones Standards.

It's a shame they no longer carry WSM. I think it would be a neat idea to carry actual over-the-air broadcast stations from different cities.

Well, all things considered, I do listen to Sirius all the time now, but the novelty is new. I wonder how I'll feel in 6 months when it's time to start paying for it.

I like the channel formerly known as "The Bridge", but it is available only on the internet now, as Bruce Spingsteen and the Payolla E Street gang kidnapped it last year and continue to hold it for ransom!!! It is also the channel I no longer like, for the above reason!! 9 months is just too long!!!

Sirius Likes:

1. Totally 70s Jocks Magic Matt, JJ Walker, Jay Thomas on Sat. Nights.
2. Classic Vinyl
3. Classic Rewind
4. Howard 100
5. Sirius Stars Jay Thomas
6. Hits 1 Weekend Countdown with Spyder Harrison

More Repeaters for those of us who live in the sticks!

I will not pay to listen to the radio!

There was a time when people said that about TV too. But that all changes when cool programming keeps popping up that you can't get for Free.

Thank you for that extra-special glimpse into your life.

Likes (in no particular order):
1. NFL channel
2. NFL games
3. Lithium (90's rock)
4. Backspin (old school rap)
5. Pulse (90's and modern top 40)
6. Various news sources (BBC, CNN, FoxNews)
7. Variety in comedy channels

Dislikes:
1. Punk channel's playlist
2. I would like more variety in college sports. In particular I'd like more coverage of Big East sports

I have both XM and Sirius and much prefer the music programming on XM.

Sirius dislikes:

1) Too FMish. Heavy compression and shallow, repetitive playlists. Jocks are smug sounding.
2) Too many channels that sound alike and cross over too much while ignoring numerous other musical genres.
3) Nothing offered like XM's Fine Tuning, AudioVisions, Beyond Jazz, etc.
4) Too many one-artist channels while ignoring other musical genres.
5) Too many DJs and program hosts that think because they're on sat radio they can curse. Sounds tacky and immature.
6) 60s Vibrations is musically shallow and tired sounding compared to XM's 60s on 6, which goes much deeper and rekindles the spirit of 60s radio.
7) The Vault is way too limited and plays entirely too much redneck rock.
8 ) Sirius is too commercial sounding versus XM's more eclectic approach.
9) While pretending to be hip, youthful, and open-minded, Sirius lacks diversity and depth in their musical offerings and are a bunch of corporate sellouts to artists like Bruce Springsteen.
10) Did I mention Sirius lacks diversity with all of their one-artist channels, narrow playlists, and numerous channels that sound alike?

I hope the merger doesn't mean that XM's channels eventually go away. XM is fresh and eclectic. Sirius is like FM without the commercials.

quote: "Sirius is like FM without the commercials."

Isn't that what Satellite Radio should be? After all, it's not an Ipod with only music, no jocks etc.. it's radio!!
