What do you all think of the GROOVE?

Are you guys enjoying the new format of WYCL? (forgot their new calls) I miss the WaYCooL format they had when we moved here in 2000. I honestly don't see this lasting much longer. We have too many dance/CHR stations in the mobile/pensacola area. When the ratings come out, I'd love to see where they stand.

News Talk 107.3 would be an excellent choice (whoever suggested that)

980 could easily flip from R&B to Sports (it's out of Milton (SP?)

Rob,

107.3 The Groove isnt going no where I like the station I listren to it online and I like the music on the Groove. (no DJ's) as well.

Well, it be nice if not every other station followed suit but this is kinda dance/ CHR overkill.

Well that's been the trend around the country. Stations trying to attract the younger demo. By flipping to chr or chr rhythmic or rhythmic ac. The cc area cluster gm confirmed this in an interview with the Pensacola news journal. The fact that people on this board think this station is going to flip any time soon is ridiculous. ::)

When did they do the flip? Mid-Fall? The Groove got a bit of an upward bump (winter-to-winter) in the Mobile book, but I think Spring '10 will be the first Pcola book for the format.

What's the demo? Women 25-44? 18-49? If they hit the target it'll start spewing money--and that's the point.

Dance/CHR overkill? Everything without a guitar must be dance music, right? ??? You have a few CHR stations (hip hop, pop, rock), several Urbans, and one Rhythmic/AC station. You don't have ONE dance station in the Mobile/Pensacola market!

The Groove is still a worthwhile effort, I think. I would love to see what effect it and i100 (WJLQ) might be having on WABB.

Unfortunately your right. People don't have any concept of house music down here. :-\ Thank god for the internet.

What about WFFY and and the big station BLX? Can't you guys receive FFY in PCOLA? 92.1?

No. 92.1 is a dead station between the Gulf Breeze Zoo and the Alabama state line. WFFY is blocking Pensacola's reception of WZEW.
