I know this is a Vegas acq but it's linked to PHX's own KFNN-AM....

BTRN to Acquire KNUU-AM/Las Vegas for $3.9M

BusinessTalkRadio.net Inc. has agreed to acquire 5kw News KNUU-AM (970)/Las Vegas from CRC Broadcasting for $3.9 million. BTRN, headed by President/CEO Michael L. Metter, also owns WGCH-AM/Stamford-Norwalk, CT, and operates WLIE-AM/Long Island through an LMA. In addition, BTRN owns the Business TalkRadio Network and Lifestyle TalkRadio Network.

"Las Vegas is an outstanding market and KNUU is a great radio station. We are excited about the incredible growth opportunities that both offer," Metter said. "We will only enhance the quality programming already airing on KNUU." Metter also indicated that no format change will be made.

CRC Broadcasting, owned by Mike Ragins, is an Arizona-based company, headed by Ronald Cohen. CRC also owns KFNN-AM in Phoenix. Kalil & Co. brokered the transaction. (04-17-06)

500w at night - basically a piece of crap. But it seems all the Vegas AM owners are cashing in on the market's upward spiral. BTW, BTRN may have seen the need to operate a second station, seeing that WLIE was bought by Starboard last week.

KFNN, well, it could be parted with as well. The refrigerator-bulb night pattern is probably holding things up, though.
