What do you think about CC and the PPM?

What is everyone's opinion of CC saying it will launch the PPM from Arbitron in the Top 50 markets, which includes Columbus, market #37? Will ratings increase for the CC Columbus cluster, or will they remain the same as when they filled out the paper Arbitron forms(Hey, ratings for WYTS can't get any lower, can they ;D)?

I'm thinking they are implementing a strategy right now by HAMMERING the podcasting and online listening for WTVN. Get the listeners accustomed to associating the stations with online elements...just a thought.

I think it's way too early to predict success or problems for any radio operator with the PPM.

What's been seen so far in the trials - formats that have the ability to cume high. (Think: CHR, News-Talk,
Rock, Country, even Oldies) have done well. Urbans have not fared so well, but I have read where Arbitron is somehow "adjusting" their methodology to try and compensate a bit. Urbans and other ethnic formats seemed to be off more than you would expect.

As to what will happen in "Big C"? Wait for the first PPM book.

From what I've seen in Philly, Rock stations of all shades seem to be the biggest gainers, followed by Oldies and Adult Hits.  Of course, the latter format is currently a non-issue here since Ted is dead. Besides, 103.9 doesn't have the signal to be a serious contender regardless of ratings methodology.
