What do you think you could get if you were...

103.7 in Winterset, IA-

Probably Omaha and then WLLR from Davenport, IA.

And maybe if you're patient enough, WCKY Pemberville, OH. Most of us Michigan and Ohio people here know about 'CKY and how the station is seemingly invincible. :)

That was exactly my experience when I was there with my car radio. I would get either one depending on which hill I was on (Iowa actually has some hills in that part of the state) and direction I was facing. I actually got HD locks on both KXKT/Omaha and WLLR/Davenport within 2 minutes of each other while driving. KXKT was a bit more dominant though.

Ok so now here's a more challenging one... :)

1310 kHz near the border of Lorain, OH and Sheffield Township, OH

Lawppy's post about 103.7 in Winterset, IA, sounds just like what I'd expect.

About 1310 in Lorain/Sheffield Township -- I'd guess you might hear interference from local WOBL from Oberlin, OH (where I attended college!) on 1320. Otherwise, I'd guess WDTW from Detroit (which I understand is off the air or going off soon) would be what I'd expect to hear maybe along with WDPN from Alliance, OH, which is about 60 miles ESE.

Nighttime, I have no idea. I don't think CIWW, given its pattern, would make it there from Ottawa. If not WDTW, then maybe WTLC from Indianapolis, but that seems like a stretch too.

1310 used to be all WDTW in Coldwater, MI before they went silent. Nowadays, you get WTLC mixing with CIWW at sunset and then WIBN at night.

107.5 in Seymour, IN
I'll share my results a little later, but I know that it's likely different now.

For 107.5 in Seymour, IN, I would say nothing at most times, with the occasional WIOK Falmouth, KY, W298BB (WFNI) Indianapolis, and WABX Evansville appearance. However, there are a few applications for 50kW on 107.5 out of Terre Haute (one of the very few areas with an open Class B allotment).

107.5 is also this week's frequency of the week. For 107.5 in Seymour, IN I would suspect the following:

If WRZQ 107.3 was using IBOC, that's what would dominate 107.5. Since it appears they are not, one should be able to receive a scratchy W298BB from Indianapolis and maybe the occasional WIOK and WHHC-LP (perhaps with aircraft scatter) Tropo could bring in stations like WRVW or WGPR or WGCI or WABX

107.5 was the former home of WZZQ in Terre Haute, IN. The station, along with an AM, had their licenses revoked. The station allotments remain today and a few churches are going through quite the lengthy battle over the 107.5 frequency. 107.5 will return to Terre Haute someday, but until then, enjoy!

As for what I heard, I had a very weak, almost unlistenable WRVW-Lebanon, TN and nothing else when I passed through town in October 2011.

I'm certain that W298BB Indianapolis now makes the trip down to Seymour. I think WIOK-Falmouth, KY might make it in as well and maybe WGCI-Chicago, IL.

104.7 MHz in Ferndale, MI

I've tried this one before and I'll post my results later :)

And as for 1310 kHz in Lorain/Sheffield Twp., OH it is slop from WOBL 1320 but also there is a 70 kHz image/bleedover from WLDW 1380 that is apparent on 1310. It's also there on 1450 interfering with WLEC reception. WDTW is no longer on the air but when they were I could get them pretty easily once I got away from the interference.

104.7 in Ferndale, MI

Probably WIOT- Toledo, OH more often than not and possibly the new CIHR-Woodstock, ON and (whenever it's on the air) the Detroit translator. Perhaps WKJC- Tawas City, MI makes the hike downstate and WFRN- Elkhart, IN when West Michigan and Michiana tropo is in.

WIBA from Madison, WI, at night?

For 104.7 in Ferndale, MI when I tried it, I got nothing because my radio was suffering front-end overload from WOMC and WMGC on either side and both using IBOC. On a radio not subject to front end overload, WIOT should be in with tropo bringing in other 104.7s

Round 16 - 1660 kHz in Vancouver, WA

During the day, probably nothing except some slight residual IBOC bleedover from 1640 KDZR with the antenna in their direction. At night, probably a mix of KTIQ and KXOL and on a good night, maybe KQWB too.

Nah, KQWB is unlikely. It's always KXOL and KTIQ here, 150 miles north of the Portland metro. The only other thing I have heard is some NOAA weather TIS (out of Oregon), but I've never IDed it. I've only caught it once.

Ok here's one if you can find it on the map, 1340 khz at Lebam, WA. That's about 10 miles east of Raymond if you're having trouble finding it.

Probably just a rather weak/scratchy KUOW from Tumwater, WA days. Near sunrise/sunset, perhaps others such as KIHR, KLOO, and/or KWLE could be IDed if you're lucky. At night, just a big graveyard mess.

I'd suppose KUOW from Lebam. Sunrise/sunset probably KLOO, KBNW, KWLE, KIHR, KJOX Pasco, etc. and night just the usual GY mess. I know where Lebam is, I've been through Raymond before but have not gone east on Highway 6.

Hmm I don't think I have ever been able to recieve KUOW 1340 down there, though am reception during the day is spotty at best. I've recieved a weak KOMO 1000 down there once and I think we've managed to pull it in on the car radio, but haven't tried 1340 that much.

98.7 in Sheboygan, WI-

Since Sheboygan's class A's (and even translators) made it across the lake in Manistee, you could probably hear the new WLDN 98.7 Pentwater over there, as well as WFGR Grand Rapids, MI. More often though, you'd probably hear WLDC Mayville, WI.

Through tropo WFMT Chicago would no doubt make it up there.

98.7 MHz in Sheboygan, WI:

Assuming W255AC has moved off of 98.9 onto 88.3, you should be able to get a fair signal of WMDC/Mayville, WI and WLDN/Pentwater, MI depending on antenna orientation but both of them should easily come in in dead band conditions. Tropo should bring in WFMT or WFGR or even WGLI.
