WHAT DOES A CARROLLA-LESS KNDD DO NOW?

Wasn't he the life-raft of that mess?My son is in jr. high, can he get a prime time shift on the air at Thee End?
What are the Qualifications to be on the air?

Play Music.

Entercom has a strong personality station at KISW.

The End will most likely be a jukebox, especially in this economy.

Don't get me wrong. It would be wonderful if they did something more, but I wouldn't count on it.

Jupiter2 would seem to be in the right direction... I guess we'll find out on Monday.

The only other possibility I'm aware of is Mancow, but he didn't work in Boise or Utah.

I don't think we'll find out anything definite on Monday. They'll just have a part-timer spin tunes until they figure things out. I think eventually they'll just have 1 person handle mornings and make it a music intensive show in order to keep things cheap. Especially after Entercom just reported a huge loss. But then again, if Adam's show was the only successful show currently airing, wouldn't they want to replace it with something similar? A full cast morning show courtesy of syndication or perhaps learn from the success of KISW and keep it local?

A music alternative for males is a possibility in this market in my humble view. KJR-FM and JACK-FM provide that already but lean toward the pop side. An alternative/active rock morning blend with a personality that doesn't get in the way of the music would be a smart format for THE END. It allows BJ to grow his personality based show, while providing an alternative pulling audience from competitors. This format tends to perform better in the PPM so I presuppose Entercom will wait til meter numbers are out before making any drastic change. In the meantime, play music and cut expenses.

Hold on there professor cowboy. how many all music mornings can a market take ??? For guys ya got JACK, KJR-FM, KFNK to name just a few :p Alternative does great in the PPM ??? Not really. :-\

Yeah I don't quite get where people are getting their info from that alt rock stations excel in PPM. K-Rock in New York might be put out of its misery anyday now, and KROQ in LA is beginning to slip a little. The only station still dominating is the Buzz in Houston and they have been performing well for years, long people people even knew what PPM was.

Please don't take this in the wrong way, loyal Seattle purists, but if they're going to do this - consider simulcasting Greg out of Portland. He does a nice program with Jon Stewart's little daily show drops and in my opinion KNRK is one of the few stations in the country to play breaking "nu" (?) alternative artists.

Speaking of Portland, isn't Marconi on the beach? Can a reunion with the End be in the cards? Seriously has there even been a better morning show that graced the KNDD airwaves?

Oh,so basically they'll stick with the same time tested, business as usual successful game plan of boring, uncompelling and safe, but hey,at least we can text in our requests!

I thought the ACS affiliates were going to do a month of "Best Ofs." At least that's what Carolla said on his last 2 days on the show.

This is what they do...directly from Entercom's website.

You left off the critical line:
"If you are not currently a student at Green River Community College, please do not apply."
The End, for being the alternative station, sure isn't diverse in their hiring. Doesn't take much to find a kid that can read from other people's blogs and listservs. The End used to have original music and thoughts.
