What DOES a station have to do to lose their license?

I didn't post that story to argue Terry Hammond's guilt or innocence, or what kind of guy he really is because it's not what we're talking about here.

The point of this thread is: what does a broadcaster have to do to get his/her license revoked.

I put the report on about Hammond's case to point up several serious offenses that will get a license revoked.

I couldn't care less who is right or wrong in Hammond's case. Go argue those details somewhere else.

I am suggesting that you didn't accomplish your point. I have been following the Shamrock situation for several years. I read the FCC's recent notice. I had never heard of any transgressions in the life of the licensee prior to his acquisition of the station in Shamrock. I will go back and read the FCC notice again tonight or tomorrow but I thought it was premised on things DONE during the time of the license itself, including failure to respond on issues that might have made a difference.

After reading your post and the link that you referenced, I got the idea that you are saying he lost the license because he did bad things before he arrived at Shamrock, and the license was revoked because of those prior bad things.

Hammond is accused of doing some bad things, before he arrived in Shamrock and after he arrived. We haven't cleared up WHICH bad things actually resulted in the revocation of the license. I thought that was the drift of this thread. What could I do that would cause me to lose my station license? We haven't answered that question yet.

Hammond had a history of illegal radio station operations before he got the Shamrock license.

No we haven't listed all the ways an owner can lose a license. There are all sorts of ways to do that. Hammond's story just shows a few of them.

This thread is not about him, so let's move on to other examples.
