What does everyone think of mandy connell on 84 whas???

I know i said i would not listen but i was curious and she is good.More conservative then francene but funny and engaging.I notice when someone mentions francene she stays clear of that for the reason she got the gig is after all a fluke. Not a knock against her just no one in a million years expected francene to be dancing with the angels in twenty ten :mad:

She is not as warm as francene and she is not any better or worse then joe just different.She hates the healthcare bill which i do to so that is a good thing!!!I prefer joes politics more but i wish her well but i would never leave florida to move to louisville???

I still think joe would be getting better numbers then she will but she will do well it wwould have been good pr for whas to have hired joe considering all people do is bash them and rightfully so.

Friday should be very interesting she talks to john yarmuth. Now i bet francene and john agreed on somethings. Mandy and yarmuth could not be more far apart. Good times
 
Mandy & I spent a couple hours together on the Western Kentucky Turnpike this morning...I enjoyed her show. Her & mister Yarmouth had a civil conversation but it was clear that they weren't on the same ideological page.
 
I think she will do well at whas but not as well as joe would have done. Not to knock joe in anyway for we all have our own way of doing things but she is more engaging then joe i think. She can really push someones buttons.

Joe has "civility" while that Levin character now on at nights screams at the top of his lungs. I listen to him, just long enough to change the channel and wonder just how many are listening to the Rush Limbaugh wannabe. It seems no one cares about Mandy, cause this post had no replies until I posted that I'd switched to 790 for my morning listening.

You are exactly right, this show was a great idea. And as an official UofL fan, I must say, I love listening to Joe B the best. He really carries the show daily.
 
I haven't listened to her as I no longer listen to WHAS for anything. I would have tuned back in from 9 to noon had they hired Joe Elliott back but they will never do that because that would be admitting they screwed up and CC will never do that.

Be careful about mistaking opinions on this board with the sentiment of the listeners in the Louisville market as a whole. This board is a very eclectic collection of opinionated radio aficionados, and only about half of them know what they're talking about.

The format interest among the posters here is nothing like the Louisville market. Urban has about a 10 share in Louisville, but does this board talk about Urban 10% of the time? Nope.

Country has almost a 20 share, but people on this board don't listen to country so it's not brought up much. Did anybody notice that Mike Shannon has been on Q103 on weekends for 2 months, and that he's not voice tracked, but live? Nope.

Do the political views of the posters on this board match up well with Louisville? Nope. The average age of the posters here? Nope. Do we have anywhere near 50% female posters here? Uh..... nope.

Mandy is a bit of a change. She will run off some Francene listeners. She will pick up some Laura Ingraham and Mike Gallagher listeners. Check back with us in July of 2011, because it'll take that long to figure out how how great of a choice she was.

But that info will be in Arbitron. You'll never figure it out by polling the opinions here.
 
Should be interesting to see what effect she has on the ratings, and it will also be interesting to see what effect, if any, the new urban format on 104 has on B 96.
 
I like Mandy, good choice from Kelly Carls. Mike Shannon needs to be on air everyday, on Q103. Q103 needs to lose the "New Country" slogan. They should be like K 99.1 in Dayton, they woul impact WAMZ more.

As a Country listener, I think the New Country moniker sets the station apart...a subtle "we're not your father's country station" hint. I like it. But then, I'm glad someone far smarter on programming issues than I made that call :) .

Now that i have listened to her for awhile i totally changed my mind. Politically we do not agree on that much but i think she is a good hire. She is funny in your face a toned down version of john ziegler. I now see why kelly carls did what he did.

Totally different from francene or joe elliott. I sure do miss francene though :mad:
 
Well it took only one time listening to this idiot for about 10 mins to determine she is a Jane Norris clone in her political thinking. What do you expect from Florida and especially Clear Channel. Joe Elliott rants on way too much, sure he is a nice pleasant voice but invariably at the top of the hour after the pathetic 2 mins of news, he would rant, repeat, rant, repeat and sometimes never take a call until after the break at :30 after the hour. He loves to hear himself talk I think.
This Connnell chick along with Meiners, Clear Channel, Jane Norris, John Ziglar is exactly why I pay for Satellite radio. I am tired of listening to an agenda, and that is exactly what Connell has, an agenda to make a name as a conservative female for bigger markets.
The day I listened she was talking politics, now I know she could beef up and speak to people about the local and regional Political history, players and trends but she made numerous comments that made it very evident she was just trying to insert her Conservative agenda because she didn't have a clue as to what she was talking about concerning the local situation.
I give her 12 months tops, she is not very personable and I can predict she isn't good enough to cause enough drama (Ziglar) to get ratings.
Bottom line WHAS sucks and has sucked since the Bingham's let it go. The news department sucks, programming sucks, Meiners is as funny as a swift kick in the crotch. Just listen to their "News" it's absolutely NOTHING. AM radio really sucks period. Spending 15.00 a month on radio via Satellite is worth every penny. Hell just using your smartphone and using the net through the car radio system is much better, which I do as well. Not one station in this town is worth a damn any more.
Anyone that listens to this crap like Connell, Limbaugh and Levin are morons with no thinking ability nor any kind of life.
I remember the days when WHAS was a real radio station, unfortunately those days are gone forever.

Here is a question for you. If everything is hunky-dory on the Mandy front, then why are they attempting to give away $50,000 during her show? Gotta love those CC contests too-- a chance of a chance of all the CC stations to get a portion of the whole pie. What a joke! But you only know that if you look into the small print.

Went to a lot of work to register just to post this message. Sounds like someone with sour grapes over the fact that Air America tanked.
