What does "Hit Music from 2K to Today" Mean (Star 94)?

It might just be for the Memorial Day Weekend. Personally, I think it's a good idea....

Between midnight and 5p (when the "Pool Party" spikes started) today, Star played 4 90s songs, and they were all pretty safe/standard golds. I don't have exact numbers to compare to, say, a year ago, but seems like they're definitely taking the spotlight off the 90s material. I like that they're using "Hit Music" in their positioner again, always thought that sounded hot...but I hope Your Life and Your Music doesn't go away either. I thought that was a great encapsulation of the station's overall aura.

Those songs are from the Memorial Day "Pool Party" specialty playlist. They'll be gone on Tuesday.

I would love if they ran the regular format most weekends and did the full Big 90s once a month or so, or on holiday weekends. Although I personally got burned out on hearing them every weekend, that programming was some of the most pure fun I've heard on Atlanta radio in years, and it reflected in the audience's reception. I can't tell you how many non-radio people I heard comment on how much they loved those weekends.
In recent months, they'd interspersed the 90s songs within the regular playlist on weekends. I liked the idea at first, but then hearing a period cut like "Baby One More Time" or "Unbelievable" out of Adele or Katy felt jarring. I guess if it weren't working they'd have pulled it, although I did notice that they dialed back to 2-3 90s titles an hour over the last two or three weekends.
