What does the future hold for Country Legends?

Well thats good to know. I can totally agree with that. The format on that signal is the perfect fit for it's coverage area. I'm not a big country fan but there are those familiar tunes that I like catching there from time to time. I'm on the road through that area alot as well. It's a cool alternative to have

Not trying to be a jerk but I honestly don't see it happening.

...and you would be right, rage. Gotta nice e-mail from someone in the know, that clearly stated that KTHT is here to stay. Reason being, it is the best format for the location of the signal there in Cleveland and the demos within its range. I, for one, am most pleased that Country Legends will remain a part of our dial.

What are there plans for KHPT and KGLK? Is the Eagle here to stay as well?

Those suckers at Cox always have a plan.

That plan may not make sense to many, but the Houston cluster has always defied the odds.

I would imagine that's the idea, willdav.. The Eagle has been topping Arrow for a little while now. They're gonna want to hang on and let it run for as long as they can.

It would be nice for Clear Channel to dump The Arrow for Cool 93.7 Houston's Oldies Station, like Cool 93.9 up in Corpus Christi, also owned by Clear Channel!

Or do the trifecta and include Cool 92.5 out of Beaumont. CC already has some staff on place that could handle this.

The conversation I had was simply regarding 97.1. We never talked about The Eagle. I would think that Cox has a pretty good feeling about The Eagle and what its currently doing to The Arrow. Quite a bit of investment has been tied up into The Eagle, including 2 100kW signals resulting in the maximum coverage area for the station. Hard to believe with that level of commitment and financial investment, Cox would entertain any changes to 107.5/106.9. That's just my take. Only thing I can say with the utmost faith and certainty is that 97.1 will remain as its currently formatted with classic country.

That's a no brainier why would Cox put one format on two signals to maximize coverage of the Eagle. God only knows what they're paying Dean and Rog. On top of that the station is outperforming The Arrow only to p!ss it away for something else tomorrow.. Not gonna happen. The Eagle is here to stay until it can't fly anymore.
